It is unfortunate too, because now the actual issue at hand will likely not get a fair hearing (at least not in the arena of public opinion).
A racist Mormon constitutionalist? GTFO!
Of course, just like there are racist "tolerant" progressives. Just look at some of the things being said about Clarance Thomas today. :coffee:

You highlighted CID's quote insinuating that all these different Conk talking heads had been advocating for a "Waco treatment" solution to the OWS losers. Time to put up or shut up, Cornhole....

Check out Ann Coulter (who I'm pretty sure I porked at a Grateful Dead concert in San Jose in the early 80s) talking about how "demonic liberal mobs" should be dealt with a la Kent State. You know, you've mentioned porking Ann Coulter more than a few times on this board. I'm not sure that's something I'd be so proud of.

Gotta love the left......"if you don't have my opinion, you don't get one". Hell none of you even questioned if Bundy is wrong, maybe blacks were better off under slavery? At least they had jobs and half of them were not in "prison".

Hey I'm just spitballin here but maybe.....just maybe it was a metaphor and he was trying to make a point?

As for the flag comments, it is OUR flag not the governments. We the people, they work for us.

I also disagree with the comment about the government owning too much land and that's for the courts to decide. WRONG......I am perfectly fine with cowboys and guns figuring that one out.

There isn't anything metaphorical in his statement. He said he doesn't recognize the US Gov't. Plain and simple. The Flag is a symbol of the United States Government, he would be better off with the Gadsden Flag or one of the Confederate Flags.

Bundy says,
"I abide by all of Nevada state laws. But I don’t recognize the United States government as even existing."
Which is funny b/c Article 1, Section 2 of the Nevada Constitution:
All political power is inherent in the people. Government is instituted for the protection, security and benefit of the people; and they have the right to alter or reform the same whenever the public good may require it. But the Paramount Allegiance of every citizen is due to the Federal Government in the exercise of all its Constitutional powers as the same have been or may be defined by the Supreme Court of the United States; and no power exists in the people of this or any other State of the Federal Union to dissolve their connection therewith or perform any act tending to impair, subvert, or resist the Supreme Authority of the government of the United States. The Constitution of the United States confers full power on the Federal Government to maintain and Perpetuate its existence, and whensoever any portion of the States, or people thereof attempt to secede from the Federal Union, or forcibly resist the Execution of its laws, the Federal Government may, by warrant of the Constitution, employ armed force in compelling obedience to its Authority.

Then what is there to debate? The actions of the BLM? I agree, they have been too heavy handed but maybe if Bundy hadn't broken the law and ignored it for 20 years, there would be a more peaceful outcome.

Maybe he hasn't broken the law?

It's possible the government is just making this up to take his land. They don't wait for their money, they take it whether you like it or not but just this once they wait 20 years? Doesn't smell right

That's a theory. Any proof that the gov't has no legal right to the land and/or the grazing fees are illegal or don't exist?

I know they are comedians, but Stewart and Colbert have a great talent for showing the stupidity in the MSM. Rush, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, etc...

Rush isn't exactly MSM. He's a radio pundit.

I doubt that Colbert and Stewartbergstein have ever been critical of MSNBC. I would imagine that both are considering gender reassignment surgery so that they might have a chance to hook up with Rachel Madcow.

Rush is a conservative blowhard that people listen to, buy his books and take his opinions as political fact. Same with Glenn Beck, Rachel Maddow, etc....

Btw, google "Colbert" and "Morning Joe". There is a long running feud.

Colbert and Stewart mock MSNBC, CNN, Fox, CBS, etc.. The problem with people like Rush, Maddow, and probably you (by virtue of your posts) is that anyone with a view contrary to yours is wrong, dangerous, stupid, etc.. It's pathetic and childish.

The Nevada constitution was written after the War of Northern Aggression and after the federal government coerced a constitutional amendment prohibiting secession.

When Nevada and other western states were admitted to the United States, the federal government committed to relinquish control of almost all of the federal lands in those territories. Of course, the federal government did not keep its promise. Big surprise.

Jesus fucking Christ. What are you talking about? The Civil War ended in April 1865. The Nevada Constitution was in place by October 1864. However, that is besides the point. The law is on the books. If you don't like the law, change it.

So? Nevada would not have been admitted to the United States if it had not included language in its constitution that pledged Nevada to the union in perpetuity.

Again, why has the federal government not met its obligation to sell the bulk of its land in Nevada and other western states?

They should be on trial for the hatchet job they are doing on him, typical left wing nutjobs. :ohno:
