It is the truth that you believe it to be true. It is still your opinion and not fact.JohnStOnge wrote:t is the truth in this sense: Someone asks you, "Who do you think are more dishonest?"
And you honestly answer, "Liberals."
John, just as your opinion is based on your experience and observations that same experience and observations has led you to develop a bias. We all have a bias in some manner, shape or form. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's part of who we are. Arguing that you're opinion is truth and that you have no bias demonstrates a naivete and lack of self awareness. 86's siggy is a waste of resources...no one is entitteled to that much excess. A breast tax must divide those things up and the excess parts will be given to those less fortunate (it's the American Liberal way).

I get the ADA issue, which probably would've involved an easy fix, but where does Title IX apply here? Take a look around the country at baseball vs softball facilities - they're night & day. Tear down the scoreboard that was raised with private funding? No, that's just wrong.

Everybody has a bias in a certain sense. We all have premises from which we proceed; particularly with respect to what is "right" and what is "wrong."ohn, just as your opinion is based on your experience and observations that same experience and observations has led you to develop a bias. We all have a bias in some manner, shape or form. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's part of who we are. Arguing that you're opinion is truth and that you have no bias demonstrates a naivete and lack of self awareness. The world isn't as black and white and right and wrong as you think it is.
However, assessment of a question such as "is 'conservatism" more dishonest or is 'liberalism" need not be subject to bias. It's quite possible to be objective while making judgements about such things.
I didn't say I can show that my opinion with respect to which "side" is more dishonest is the truth. I said it's not based on bias. And it's not. I did not decide that Liberalism is more dishonest because I don't like Liberalism. Rather, my observation that Liberalism is dishonest is a factor in me not liking Liberalism. It is one of many observations that preceded a decision to reject what we call "Liberalism."
And I don't think the world is as "grey" as you think it is. I think that there are many situations that people portray as "grey" that, on further analysis, can be expressed in "black and white" terms. I think the "grey" thing is frequently an excuse people like to use in order to do what they want or justify what they want to justify and avoid feeling bad about it.
Not that there is never "grey." But I don't think there is nearly as much as some people like to say there is.
