Is Russian ammo that high quality? I'm sure if something happens I'm sure somebody else would pick up the slack for cheap foreign ammo.

I shoot 7n6 through my Ak-74 for about 15 cents/round.

That's cheap. It's so cheap that I have bought suitcases of it to stockpile. I'm getting close to 10k rounds.

In general, AK ammo is far cheaper than AR ammo, even new production x39.

I'd have no problem with that.

If some states want to go bye-bye, I really don't see a problem with them separating. Seriously, if people don't want to be a part of a system, who the Hell am I to tell them they need to stay? :suspicious:

I don't see how anyone can say that they support freedom while keeping someone forcibly tied down. Scotland might vote to separate, and if they do, why the heck should Wales and Queenly Ol' England be able to force them to stay? :suspicious:

Frankly, I hope Scotland does separate. :thumb:

Not sure why you are absolutely sure that would have not resulted in something better for everyone.

The North should have let the South go its own way. We spilled hundreds of thousands of lives in order to force someone to be part of something they didn't want to be a part of. It was just another step in the ego tripping world of power players throughout our history. We lied to, cheated, and killed the Indians (but we were superior, so it didn't matter). We killed our southern bothers (but we were superior, so it didn't matter). We killed the Mexicans (but we were superior, so it didn't matter). We released the slaves...wait, only those in the South (but we were superior, so it didn't matter).

Winners write history though, so you can feel good about that.

How do you know it's false? You think you can make a big change (like no Civil War) and everything else would stay the same?

I wasn't argueing that. I was argueing the for the North letting the South go. Without a war there would haven't have been the loss of 600k lives and the wholesale destruction of most Southern cities (along with a good bit of countryside). Wouldn't have been the resulting bitterness. Slavery was on its way out on its own and would have ended by the turn of the century. Think the South & North would have reunited by early 20th century..

There is debate regarding the idea that slavery was on it's way out, not every historian agrees. I doubt either side would have spilled so much blood for something if they knew it was about to end anyway.

Ok, warmongers. An estimated 620k killed and about 900k wounded, not to mention the catastrophic psychological toll and wholesale destruction of the south. Was it worth it?

Yes. Think of the gene pool clensing that was accomplished during the war
