Cold War II
So is Russia going to invade Ukraine? Ukraine is weak.
We got a Russian warship in Havana Bay. Are you concerned?

The Cap'n had to chuckle reading Kerry's statement in which he warns Russia about not violating a country's sovereignty. Meanwhile, we're in Iraq, we're in Afghanistan, we "invaded" Grenada, we routinely bomb the living shit out of three dozen other countries….

We have our warts, no doubt about it, but we're a shining star in the viewpoint of history compared with what the other options are. Reagan or Bush aren't the Presidents anymore, you need to stop thinking so pessimistically.

Re: Cold War II
Come on, trying to equate Russia entering the Ukraine conflict with us entering Iraq or Afghanistan is a stretch even for you, even when you're just trying to be provocative rather than serious. First of all, you have the history to take into account - yes, there are plenty of ethnic Russians in Crimea at this point in time, a majority in that region even. However, the only reason they are in the majority there is because Stalin ethinically purged that region after WWII and shipped the entire population of Crimean Tartars to Siberia and refilled it with Russians. The last time we did that was when Andrew Jackson was President, so not exactly in modern times. And as far as I can recall, we haven't pushed to give tons of American passports to people in Iraq or Afghanistan, as Russia has done in the Crimea, and we have no intention of adding Iraq and Afghanistan as the 51st and 52nd states.Cap'n Cat wrote:See the post below yours.GannonFan wrote:

Sure, if you just want to make a cursory jibe on the two situations, of course you can make them seem similar. And sadly, many people who don't want to think too much will fall in line with you. But such minimal reflection will hardly qualify for determining what side of history we should fall on.

Compared to Russia? Please, even you can't honestly believe that. Do you think Russia would ever have let a guy like Snowden live more than 24 hours after taking off like he did? And again, I don't recall the US fostering civil war in neighboring countries by blanketing them with passports and then entering and annexing those countries under the guise of "protecting" their citizens.Cap'n Cat wrote:Bullshit. I think your man-crush on Putin and those pictures he's taken with his shirt off is clouding your judgement here, Cappy.

Re: Cold War II
Even with the USA behind John Kerry who would give one fu*k what that coward cu*t had to say about anything?
Kerry isnt a man, he isnt smart, he is a fu*king pussy and I hope Putin kicks him in his left wing liberal cu*t on the big stage.
Its a sad state of affairs when you live in the USA and wish you had Putin as a leader, hes a man and he gets shit done unlike the fu*king loser left we have leading the country now. Only a liberal retard would follow Obama or Kerry anywhere or think they can do more than tie each others shoes.
How far we have fallen.

In foreign affairs, there are no allies- only interests.
Russia understands this and is unashamed and unapologetic about acting in their own interests.

Did Kerry say anything about 'crossing a line' or 'game changer'? I wonder if we will give Russia the Syria treatment. Maybe we can shun them, or better yet, we can hold our breath until we turn blue in the red states.Cap'n Cat wrote:The Cap'n had to chuckle reading Kerry's statement in which he warns Russia about not violating a country's sovereignty.
