Yes. It's complicated. I essentially knew I'd be going to OCS within 18 months. The plus was that I got to take in the whole Marine Corps experience: boot camp at Parris Island, MCT at Lejeune, my enlisted specialty school, a short enlisted stint in the fleet, OCS, TBS, my officer specialty school, and a longer stint as an officer in the fleet. It's been a real benefit, especially now working for the Marine Corps again.
