Western Md. Residents Want To Form Their Own State

Every single state in the Union has such a division.

Correct, but MD has taken it to a new level. This is what they did to Western Maryland to make sure they had no say in Annapolis. They extended their state congressional district into my BLUE county to grab enough voters to make it a blue district.

There are far worse districts.

After all, in 2012, there was far more votes for Democrats in the House than Republicans. A complete, non-gerrymandered House would be a Democratic majority.

There are far worse looking ones in Maryland, but the one I posted is perhaps the most egregious in the state (don't forget that MD was ranked #1 in gerrymandering). The old district simply ended at the county line and the appendage to include Germantown, Rockville, etc... on that map were added to give them a larger base that was totally unrepresentative of the western counties. Had they stopped in Frederick County they'd have a case as there is still a lot of ag land and rural housing. The part of my county they added is NOTHING like Western MD.

Unfortunately the people on eithe side in charge won't. Last election Annapolis absolutely rigged the referendum that would have done away with quite a bit of it in MD. They made it sound like you were voting against the Constitution if you voted for the referendum. O'Malley is going to make a run for the WH. IF he were to get far enough Jon, he is a guy you do NOT want to vote for even though he brought same sex marriage to MD.

Yeah, you were right. I think I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he's a Gonzaga alum. However, I was 100% for Ehrlich in that election and was pissed when O'Smelly won on a platform of nothing except I'm not Bush.

I will agree with you on closing overseas bases, we should keep our money here in the USA and let others fend for themselves for awhile. I agree about the owners hiring illegals, they should be fined, forced to pay for deportation and then shot.
