I haven't read a single post in this thread.

I think we can, however, sum the situation up by saying that the United Nations has zero credibility on anything it says or does and it's a shame that the United States even participates in it.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Yeah, he's part that and part loyal dog of a serial rapist -oblivious to his owners' depravity - just likes to play fetch, retrieve the paper or slippers, drag his ass across the floor and lick his owners' fingers after a brutal rape.

Religion isn't about shiny objects. It is about deeper questions, like why kindness is a moral imperative. If kindness is merely a choice, it can be disregarded as easily as followed. I think it is wonderful that you and D1B choose kindness; I wish you would agree with me that kindness is also an objective and eternally truthful moral imperative.

As I've mentioned before, I think things like kindness, love, and wonderment at the natural world are as close to God as anything else I've experienced, witnessed or read. And I appreciate the "why" question too. But that opens up a hole other can of worms doesn't it. If God wants to show himself in more tangible ways, he will.

Like becoming Incarnate? It would be hard to be more tangible than that.

You're correct that appreciation of the "why" questions opens up a whole new series of issues.

This is where I will agree with you. Our differences are the authority of Rome. You will find in me a major supporter of all 3 major Christian Creeds my friend. On others, eh...we'll agree to disagree. Take care. :thumb:

I believe in the Catholic Church because it was initiated by Christ, sanctified by the Holy Spirit, and thus it is not possible for it to go wrong -- notwithstanding the massive failures of individuals who have claimed to act in its name. No man can reform the Church; man can only reform those who lead or have led the Church.

I think we can agree that causing the fall of those who act in the Church's name is a great temptation for the force of evil, because their failures cause a lack of faith among others. And that's why Catholic clergy are such a great target for the force of evil.
I wish you the best. :thumb:

This is where I have a problem with the Catholic Church. It is a human institution the same ass all other religions. A human institution based on a foundation of sprituality, but a human institution none the less. "Sanctified by the Holy Spirit" - what a bunch of nonsense.

Joe, why did God wait tens of thousands of years from the dawn of man to finally become incarnate? :coffee: Doesn't appear to be a very smart or kind god to essentially deny salvation to billions of people who did nothing wrong except be born before god got off his lazy and an decided to clone himself. :coffee:

Also, why did god decide to show his face in the most ingnorant illiterate backwater shithole on earth? If he was smart and kind, he would have become incarnate in a place like China where there were millions of people living in a highly literate culture at the time. :coffee: It he'd done this, we wouldn't be having this discussion. :coffee:
