It's been over 10 years since my good paying job was eliminated and shipped over seas and I'm now back up to about 60% of where I was then.

Vic, you're the exception, not the rule. Most people in your situation have just stayed on long-term unemployment and let others pay their bills for them. They expect to just waltz back in to a job paying the same or more than what they lost when Obama's economy shit the bed.

Huh? I would think the GOP wants a high unemployment rate and a shitty economy for the midterm elections (not that it did them any good in the last election ). If anyone wants to see a “lower” unemployment rate its Obama. Then he and the Dems can claim their domestic agenda is “working”.

The Repubs want doom and gloom, “lower” unemployment rates do not fit into that strategy…however let’s see what happens to the job market when the employer mandate expires.

I think it's a shame that a situation evolved in which we watch "economic" estimate statistics daily with baited breath and think of the central government as responsible for making sure that they are "good." I think we'd be better off if we didn't even generate the estimates and didn't look at government as responsible for managing the economy per se. When you say you want the government to manage the economy you are saying you want the government to have an awful lot of control over things.
