So, comparing banking systems with Iceland is a massive fail, but comparing economies to Greece is cool?

Massive Tax evasion by the ultra wealthy is considered as much a reason for Greek financial issues as any other circumstance.

I find that hysterical actually
One thing isfor sure- if you want cradle to grave coddling fromyour government, EVERYBODY needs to be paying through the nose. Especially the big bad rich.

So you bought your house in cash? All of your cars?
Idiotic comparison. Shows how little you understand about national debt.

Do you buy 6 cars at a time, 5 houses, and then take out loans every year to make your car and house payments?

But government is suppose to be run like a household budget, or a business...right?

Not necessarily-

If I actually printed my own money, and that money actually had value, then that would change the calculus on how I run my personal finances

but the basic principles are the same

Exactly. We have as much in common with Iceland as we do with Greece.

Greece: signs of growth come as austerity eases
The IMF's austerity plan hasn't worked. Greece's possible recovery is down to a construction programme boosting the economy

Of course, Greece is still far from out of the woods. With a debt-to-GDP ratio of 176% (it was about 115% when Greece began austerity), and facing high interest rates if it returns to market financing, there could be more crises and another debt restructuring ahead. And even if the return to growth this year convinces investors to put their money in Greece, it will take years for unemployment to reach humane levels.

Wait...there's actually a "humane" level of unemployment?
