You should stay out of the adult conversations.

I'll dumb it down for you. Seattle, the new bastion of liberalism/cool workplaces, such as Boeing, as kalm pointed out/socialism/etc., has a large union presence at Boeing that just voted (against the local union's leadership's direction) to voluntarily lose/reduce a whole host of benefits ranging from health, to pay, to pensions, in order to keep their jobs.

In other words, the newly elected city council person and poster child for the Left, Idiot Sawant, won her battle, but her peeps are still losing their war against the actual money makers and visionaries. :kisswink:

You may now go back to looking clownish with yet another failed attempt at trying to look smart...but with my free gift of a bit of added perception and wisdom. :thumb:

You're welcome.

Boeing is like Ford or GM - it's a United Auto Workers house and largely dismissed

Pay no attention to Kalm regarding this Boeing thing

Now, now, Chiz, kalm brought Boeing into this conversation, so your ugly duckling stays. And, those union types do drink coffee, buy computers to go online and shop at Amazon, shop at Costco, and take their SUVs out to do some recreational living...heck, they might even buy some REI gear to go shooting up Sasquatch (did you know that only 8 of Washington's 39 counties do not have a bigfoot sighting)...and they do so at decent, middle class American wages (or at least they did).

So, as dutiful consumers, they help keep your hippie population humming.

With the way you describe it, similar to the Republican elite, seems as though some well paid Millenial (pretty close to "menial") techies don't want their low brow, hard working, low education based, assembly line consumers hanging around and interfering with their elite, granola crunching lives.

Uhh...this topic was about Seattle electing a socialist city council member and a gay mayor...and hot Asian chicks. Subsequently, it involved, if you read kalm’s article and viewed your own video, trying to get support for $15/hour wages for everybody in Seattle…then the rest of the U.S.

That liberal/socialist, “for the workers/masses movement”, stands in stark contrast to the Boeing employees who just had to give up major concessions (hint for the slow readers: pensions were a big part of that surrender) to Old Uncle Boeing and their greedy executives. Of course, we’ll get back to greedy executives a bit later.

In the meantime, since you brought up geography, we’ll go with Boeing’s presence in “Seattle”, compared to the other companies you mentioned were in “Seattle.”

Boeing – production site in Renton. Distance from Renton to Seattle...12 miles.

Boeing also has workers in Tukwila…the airport. Distance from Tukwila to Seattle…11 miles.

Google – Kirkland. Distance to Seattle…14 miles.

Microsoft headquarters: Redmond. Distance to Seattle…15 miles.

Costco’s headquarters are located in Issaquah. Distance to Seattle…17 miles.

REI’s corporate offices are located in 6750 South 228th St. Kent, Washington which is 18 miles south of Seattle

Boeing…production site in Everett. Distance from Everett to Seattle...29 miles.

Oh, and the distance from Allentown to Philadelphia...61 miles. Distance from Lancaster to Philadelphia...65 miles.

Now that the geography topic has been covered, let’s get back to the thread’s topic.

We have Boeing’s Seattle area employees giving up major concessions to stay employed. In the meantime, “local” greedy Microsoft executives (those supposed left leaning folks who care about the masses) avoids 2.43 billion in taxes with loopholes and hiding assets overseas…just like the greedy Conks. Too funny.

Sawant and the VOTING socialists won’t be happy about that. As liberals usually find out, it is easier to ask someone else to pay more taxes...as they avoid those taxes themselves.

Remember, those young, healthy, upwardly mobile Millenials vote…and take action. If their putrid sign up rate for Obamacare is any indication, (and their avoidance of taxes), they really don't want to pay their fair share to help those less fortunate.

Sawant said she would not play special favors with the local big money businesses...and she stated that she wants to tax the wealthy even more. The 100,000 folks who voted for her seem to be sending a message that a conflict is coming.

That depends on your definition of Socialism and the type of pension.

Socialism involves a partnership, to varying degrees, between the state and the people regarding the ownership (and benefits resulting from that ownership) and direction of the means of production. Those loose guidelines have never been nailed down, have they? In the end, Socialism is just another way of controlling and measuring people's ownership and return from production...not much different from our supposed "free market" capitalism that has business owners in bed with government. :thumb:

Regardless of one's definition of Socialism, Idiot Sawant, who received 100,000 votes, ran on a "Socialist" platform and is calling for a $15/hour wage for everyone. In stark contrast to a demand for better benefits and wages for Seattle's workers, at the same time, other Seattle voters gave up their wages, benefits, and pension (part of their benefits from the means of production) in order to preserve their job.

It seems as though Seattleites don't know what to do with themselves or their working conditions. One group wants to force companies to pay more, while another group is willing to vote away their benefits rather than have a company leave. :coffee:

Now that the geography topic has been covered, let’s get back to the thread’s topic.

We have Boeing’s Seattle area employees giving up major concessions to stay employed. In the meantime, “local” greedy Microsoft executives (those supposed left leaning folks who care about the masses) avoids 2.43 billion in taxes with loopholes and hiding assets overseas…just like the greedy Conks. Too funny.

Microsoft has almost 20,000 employees in Europe and Asia Boeing does not

The only conflict coming is how fast can Boeing Leave the state of Washington... it can't happen fast enough if you ask me and most other Seattle People

Yeah those blue collar peons smell bad. And they're rough on the scenery.
