I'm not the moran who insisted that Benghazi was a "manufactured scandal". Even if it WAS (which it's not) there are plenty of OTHER shit that you donks conveniently gloss over that make this Christie "scandal" look like a walk in the park in comparison.

Yeah, let's go ahead and take a look at conservative demi-god Reagan's squeaky clean administration.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any US president.[1]
Precisely. Accountability for their actions. A concept that is completely LOST on donks.

To be accurate, I think you need to note that the Obamacare rollout is also going to involve multiple scandals. The letter from the state attorneys general to Sebelius claiming the ObamaCare changes are illegal being an example.

What I don't get is how anyone can be smart enough to be an executive yet do something so stupid as to write e mails like that. It's even possible that they may have been joking in that e mail but you just can't do stuff like that.

Word is now that an 85 year old grandmother died because she had suffered a heart attack while crossing the bridge and the ambulances couldn't get to her in time because of the traffic caused by the lane closures...

For American voters, slowing/stopping traffic on purpose is like kicking their dog.....tearing off their breast cancer awareness ribbons.....taking away their Netflix. This is personal.......and Christie is toast.

This. Anybody that hires people that stupid should not be president.

I was listening to Obama head cheerleader and NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todd this morning on Today and he said (paraphrasing) that Christie needs to get ahead of this, say he is either fully responsible for ordering this or an admission that he has some lack of control over his senior staff. Immediately I thought of the Obama list above (Holder and Sebellius specifically) and wondered why NBC doesn't hold this administration to the same standards.

I'm still wondering about Christie since that is what we are talking about.

Listening to his press conference:

He fired the chick that did this and asked his campaign manager not to submit his name for consideration going forward. He's also taking responsibility for what happens on his watch. Initiating 1-1 meetings with staff to be certain nothing else is pending.

He's meeting with Ft. Lee mayor to apologize in person then speaking to Ft. Lee citizens later today.

Meanwhile, Holder, Sebilius, Kundra (CIO), etc., etc., etc. all still have their jobs and have been held accountable for NOTHING. Obama let Hildabeast and Napolilesbo and the old IRS chief leave of their own accord after massive scandals in THEIR areas of responsiblity and the adminstration continues to operate as if nothing wrong has happened.

This may actually be a good thing for Christie going forward although I'm sure he would like to have avoided it altogether. He demonstrated personal accountability, decisiveness, quick action, and follow up. Kind of like leaders do.

Exactly. The next couple of weeks are important in terms of what he says and does. Lucky for him, this is so far away from any active campaigning for the White House that it'll be forgotten.

No shit - Iran/Contra was the most IMPEACHABLE offense committed by a sitting president this Century.

Bush/Cheney/Ollie/Reagan committed TREASON and all should be still in jail (well, Ronnie is dead)

Really? The illegal sale of weapons to Iran is the most impeachable offense? Lying about WMDs putting us into a war isn't? How about Tea Pot Dome?

If they'd thrown them in jail for Iran/Contra, the Iraqi debacle never would have happened.

And yes, far worse than the Tea Pot Dome

Well it looks like another thing Christie is good at is damage control. Seriously, how could he have handles this controversy any better today. Now, on the other hand if further info comes out later to contradict Christie he's knee deep in shit, but unlike 99.9% of other politicians that would spin & talk around the issue he seemed to hit it head on. Firings, meeting with Fort Lee mayor & residents personally. It's not going to gain him any votes from the people that weren't going to vote for him anyway, but the way he handles things today could help him with Independent voters.
