When I talk with people around the Sky, the team that comes up most often as "We hate you!" is Montana.

As for me, it boils down to two who I believe don't belong here: SUU and UND. No real rational reason for that, just a feeling that they're seriously out of the conference footprint and the failure of SUU to prevent a 4-6 team from winning a conference title. The case for Montana is much more rational: getting tired of losing to the Griz so much over the years. While EWU has been really good of late, that feeling doesn't exactly extend back more than about five years or so; that feeling has been around for Montana at least since the mid-'90s.

Hey dumb f**k. Pull out a map, youll see that SUU is probably more in the "conference footprint" than your nut sack state team. And SUU preventing a 4-6 team from winning a conf championship? Who f***ing cares? Get the hell over it. Youre probably more mad at SUU for kicking your azz every year.

Heres the deal I think. Many people down here see the Big Sky and MVC like this: Its got a lot of large, public schools, some the "flagship" university of that state. Like Montana. Or North Dakota State. There is no FBS team there. Down here, there are several FBS teams in a state, and FCS is mostly the smaller, less well funded teams. For example, Coastal is a branch school of USC. USC and Clemson are the large, primary flagship schools. Montana, Montana State, Idaho State, North Dakota State, North Dakota, etc. To their states, they are the Clemson, USC, UGA, Florida. Primary state flagship type schools. But...playing in FCS for some reason. But, Boise St, Idaho, Wyoming....they manned up and moved up.

So, in places like Montana and North Dakota, their large, primary flagship schools aren't quite good enough to play FBS- maybe relatively lower level of in-state high school talent- but, being the primary schools in that state, they are very good in FBS.

So, states like Montana and North Dakota- their primary flagship schools couldn't beat our primary ones (Clemson, South Carolina, etc), but, they beat our secondary ones like Wofford, Coastal, etc.

That's how many here view the Big Sky. A tweener conference. As flagship schools, should be in FBS. But they aren't. Not sure why they don't move up like Idaho, Boise State and Wyoming did.

EWU: two FBS in state and UofI just down the road.

Weber and SUU: Utah, Utah State, BYU

NAU: UofA and AS

Cali FCS: a gazillion FBS in-state

I remember watching film before a game against the griz. I think they were paying weber. The offense guard had a d tackle engaged in a pass block and he had him stood straight up. The offensive tackle wasn't blocking anyone and decided to dive as hard as he could at the defenders locked knee. Dirtiest play I've ever seen. Ended the kids season. And since it was at wagriz, so the ref took as long as he could to subtly drop the flag without getting noticed. Dirty dirty dirty.

If you are talking about who I think you are, the player got a apology call from the player and Bobby Hauck. The Weber player was engaged with someone else and was then cut by a different Griz player-the one you are talking about.

Not saying the apology healed all transgressions, just that it was not intentional like you say.

It was pretty bad. Cody Balogh was vilified in Utah after that.

In true Weber spirit, they ruined the season and career of one of our most promising D-Linemen the next year in Ogden doing the same thing.
