I can proudly say I haven't watched 5 minutes of that drivel. That being said, given that it's the most popular show EVER on cable TV, if you think it won't get snatched up by another cable channel you're dumber than I gave you credit for.

In the sermon, at about the 1:15 mark in the video, Robertson says that men who have sex with men, and women who have sex with women, will receive the "due penalty for their perversions." He goes on to say that they are full of "murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, god-haters. They are heartless. They are faithless. They are senseless. They are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil."

Is this unexpected considering how he was raised and where he lives?

Should he be judged by those he himself judges?

Should his life end?

Should he be embraced by the LGBT community...who become his neighbor...and exemplify (daily) what it means to be a gay Christian...endeavoring to walk in Jesus's steps, every moment.

They are by FAR A&E's biggest cash cow. 14 million viewrs a month. The most watch show in the history of cable TV. Regardless of how much $ they have made, A&E has to be shti**n themselves right now. If the Robertsons walk, A&E loses their cash cow after this season. A&E will cave. They'll lose FAR more by the Robertson's walking than by some GLAAD boycott....

I met a friend at the DoG (Duke of Gloucester) Street Pub last night in Colonial Williamsburg. They have a fairly big menu of craft beers. I drank Michelob Ultra (they didn't have Bud Light) for the 4.5 hours we were there.

Agreed. I don't think a GLAAD boycott will hurt A&E at all, it might even help. Losing the Robertson's will hurt. I've never watched the show, but instead of a suspension A&E should have just put some disclaimer about how the views of the cast don't reflect the views of the channel. Even now, A&E could publically back down, undo the suspension, and come out ahead from all the publicity that this issue has generated.

According to The Daily Mail, Robertson made the comments three years ago during a speech at the Wild Game Supper at the Berean Bible Church in Pennsylvania. The new video surfaced a day after Robertson was suspended from the show after making comments about gay people in GQ magazine. His suspension has already caused a political rift.
“Women with women, men with men, they committed indecent acts with one another, and they received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions,” Robertson said in the 2010 speech. “They’re full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. This particular guy doesn't care. He's got more money than he needs and he'd still have more money than he needs if the "Duck Dynasty" show was canceled completely tomorrow.

But, in general, I think it'd be better if people could say what they really think without fear of losing their livelihoods. I really do.
