The 2013 FCS SEMI-FINALS - Who wins and why?
EWU wins Bc Vernon is hard to stop along with big play forte. And the EWU defense will shut down t west.
NDSU will win Bc they are a good team all around and they win in the trenches. New Hampshire had the easiest quarterfinal game and therefor probably shouldn't be in this game.

NDSU:
Both lines have been playing great all year. The offense is better than the last 2 years with the passing game really becoming a weapon this year. Teams cannot stack the box. Defense wins championships and NDSU has one.
EWU:
Fast break offense that is really hard to defend. Great WRs with an equally talented QB. I love Towson's offense but I don't think they have the passing game to beat EWU. Their O-line is very good and I suspect they will run West until EWU shuts him down...if they can. EWU is at home.

NDSU wins - Playoff experience, Senior leadership, depth, Defense. NDSU makes too many mistakes, they can lose.
EWU wins - Eagles will adjust faster to Towson's defense than Towson's defense can adapt to EWU's offense. Eagles just score more points and Defense holds Towson to a little less.

NDSU and TOWSON win. Both close games. Towson/EWU is a coin flip. I have not seen EWU play in person but Towson is very strong, fast and talented. Most likely the toughest opponent EWU has faced all year and I see them taking a quick lead. If EWU can keep it close and get the crowd involved with a comeback it should be a great finish.
UNH may surprise and give NDSU a game of it. They have played as well as any team down the stretch but going out on the road again will probably tell in the second half. NDSU pulls away and wins by 15.

NDSU- Top team for a reason with their high powered offense and defense should win something like 41-10 for another out of conference blowout.
Towson- Offense will not have to punt in this game and should put up 40+ no problem. EWU luckily got by a weak OVC team via their QB going out in the first half. Towson walks away with this one 48-28.

Obviously rooting for UNH and Torson, but I think it's NDSU/EWU. I picked NDSU at the start of the year (really went out on a limb) and it's a lot to ask a team to go to Illinois and then Washington back to back.

That would surprise me (nothing should in a crazy year) as I think it will be a track meet with NDSU pulling out a close one... 45-38 ish.The Kicker wrote:NDSU- something like 41-10 for another out of conference blowout.

NDSU by 17
EWU by 7
West gets 175 yards, but Towson already has proven they're suceptible to the turnover....VA and the Eagles can't POSSIBLY play as bad as they did last week.
NDSU methodically rolls over UNH...two scores to every one for UNH.

How fucking awesome would it be for NDSU to blow it and lose to UNH...I would laugh my ass off.

I despise the Bizon blowhards as much as anyone, but they ain't giving up 38 points ANYONE, especially not a middle-of-the-pack offense like UNH's. You are out of your mind.

Haters will hate as Ralph also hates the Bison on AGS. I'm just enjoying the ride. I've seen 9 of the 10 Bison championships in my lifetime and plenty of playoff losses, including a couple championship games, when they were suppose to win.grizzaholic wrote:How **** awesome would it be for NDSU to blow it and lose to UNH...I would laugh my ass off.

Hats off to UNH if they can score 38. They deserve to win if that happens.

Re: The 2013 FCS SEMI-FINALS - Who wins and why?
I'm not going to spend the time doing my usual position matchups this week, but here's what the semis look like…
UNH @ NDSU - This one will probably come down to how well the Wildcats stop the run. Their stats on the year are middling, but they've been better of late (holding 3 of their last 4 under 100 yards rushing, I believe). I don't expect New Hampshire to score much unless Jensen starts spilling the ball all over the place. That could happen if the Bison can't run well, though, because UNH's pass rush has been dominant recently. Wildcat upset possible, but unlikely. New Hampshire 16-31 North Dakota St.
TOW @ EWU - First of all, don't expect a big crowd for a game that's at 11:00 AM local time. Anyway… as I said elsewhere, this one should have a little more defense than Towson/Eastern Illinois. Terrance West ran for an insane 354 yards in quarterfinals, but what's even more remarkable is that Towson likely would've lost if he'd run for a "pedestrian" 254 yards. I don't see EWU letting him break 300 but the Eagles have a weaker pass D than EIU so there may be a little opening there. This one likely comes down to two things: how well Peter Athens throws the ball, and whether EWU can rebound from their uncharacteristic redzone squanderings from last week. Towson 28-35 Eastern Washington

NDSU takes UNH. The NDSU defense is better than the UNH offense and the NDSU running game will wear down the UNH defense. NDSU 27 UNH 21
Towson takes EWU. The Towson team is the best team EWU has seen since August. Home field advantage will not be enough to overcome T. West and 4th and 29... Towson 45 EWU 28

Talked to the ticketing agent on Tuesday and sales were up over the previous week at that point...despite having WSU's once in a decade bowl trip and Gonzaga's game all start about the same time.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I'm not going to spend the time doing my usual position matchups this week, but here's what the semis look like…

True, but if Eastern won that one (especially on a controversial call) the Bizon butthurt would be almost too good to imagine.Brock Landers wrote:NDSU and EWU, because that's what will annoy me the most

As a result EWU or NDSU would have the last 4 championships. Out of the 3 teams not NDSU, I like EWU the most. BlackFalkin and Kalm make up for SE and Ranger. Sometimes the stars align for certain things. Like EWU's third rematch with shsu in 2014. And EWU being the 2010 natl champ beating ndsu in ot. Ndsu winning the next two. Then they meet up again in Frisco.Grizalltheway wrote:True, but if Eastern won that one (especially on a controversial call) the Bizon butthurt would be almost too good to imagine.Brock Landers wrote:NDSU and EWU, because that's what will annoy me the most
