I've mentioned this family on here a few times. One of my favorites is how they would talk about how great it was that an interracial couple moved onto our street. That was until they found out that it was an educated black male that was a lawyer and a white woman who was a teacher. As soon as they realized this black man made more $$ then them (the wife "had" to go to college TWICE to become a teacher, the husband never finished 9th grade), they bitched on and on about them from that point on, always dropping the N-bomb.

My generation must be really different. I wouldn't give a shit. My best friend,Mike, is a black man and a scientist. I don't know any people that would get pissed or uppity b/c he was educated (then again, I wouldn't put myself around fuckers like that.)

In 1969, at Travis AFB, there was an anti-Vietnam-war protest rally going on outside the main gate. And, Jane Fonda was the guest speaker. All kinda' angry folks were involved, handing out leaflet, and spouting their stuff.
At the time, I was stationed at Travis, and was part of a medical team that was supposed to treat anyone that was injured at this event. Fortunately, no one was.
The Security Police that were working with the medical staff that I was assigned to were task with the responsibility of making sure that Jane left the area safely. After the rally was over, she came to our staging area, and thanked us for our efforts.
I had one of the leaflets that was handed out earlier, and I ask her to sign it. This is EXACTLY what she said to me after hearing my request: "I'm sorry, but I'm politically opposed to signing autographs.".
"Politically opposed to signing autographs"??? WTF is up with that?
That was 44 years ago, and despite her hotness at the time, I'm STILL PISSED about it!
