I'd say its more like trying to convince EWU to pour some of their water in my cup. No thanks.

It's not about being optimistic or pessimistic. It's posters like vutomcat who act like conference mates doing well in the playoffs somehow vindicates his own team's poor season because they happen to be teams they lost to. If your own team had a successful season, feel free to talk shit about other teams losing.89Hen wrote:Some folks see the glass half full Brock.Brock Landers wrote: F#ck that, some of us don't. Well the title of the thread involves a conference. A conference is more than one team...that might be hard to understand for some folks. And, the title invokes a comparison of conferences (thus, the teams in those conferences), since it declares, rather humorously, that one conference is best.Grizalltheway wrote:It's not about being optimistic or pessimistic. This really isn't that hard to understand.
Feel free to not post if it ruffles your feathers that your team only managed to beat one team with a winning record this year...truly an astonishing feat for what was supposedly a successful season...and supposedly a playoff selection caliber team.

The issue goes beyond this particular thread (which wasn't started by Big Sky fan, you'll notice).Cluck U wrote:Well the title of the thread involves a conference. And here we go again with fans of teams that haven't made the playoffs in years talking smack about those that have. Priceless.

No one cares about simply making the playoffs these days. Why get in, especially when you know you don't deserve it, if you just get embarrassed, especially at home, when you go out and meet the real teams of the world in your first encounter?
Championships...the other stuff is just fluff.

Almost everyone cares about making the playoffs. Ask UNH fans...bubble team now with an extra home game, several weeks worth of extra practices, experience, and development, a chance to get to the playoffs...nah...they should have declined the bid...Cluck U wrote:I "noticed" that you still can't help yourself...jumped right in again. Funny you should pick them as an example. UNH has made the playoffs quite a few more times in the past 10 years than the Hens, but I wouldn't trade three trips and one NC for 8 appearances and no semis.kalm wrote:Almost everyone cares about making the playoffs. UNH has a chance to win it all. Butler, Montana, Tenn. St., Bethune-Cookman...never had a chance to make a statement, let alone a chance to win it all. And they knew it going in (except for the blind folks). Simply cannon fodder. Hey, TSU can say they did better than the Griz...they won playoff game before getting embarrassed. And Butler can go bragging about how they were a playoff team this year - and Griz fans will talk about how Butler was such a good team because the Butboys made the playoffs.kalm wrote: Almost everyone cares about making the playoffs. Re: Big Sky is still the best league in the FCS
Don't deserve it? We played the teams on our schedule and went 10-2. If you want to argue we didn't deserve a seed, fine. But in a 24 team playoff, a 10-2 team from a major conference will always make the field, and rightfully so.Cluck U wrote:I "noticed" that you still can't help yourself...jumped right in again. Embarrassed? Losing to a good team by 7 is not embarrassing. Giving up 62 points to a team that got bounced in its first playoff game is embarrassing.

The BSC has a more recent champ. If you're going to go back 10 years, why not 20? Or 25? Hell, go back to the beginning....MVFC >> SoCon >> BSC >> CAA.89Hen wrote:In the last 10 years you have EWU who won a NC and then there's... no wait, there must be another... um....Grizalltheway wrote:

And the CAA has four different champs before you'll find a second for the BSC. If you're limiting to most recent... MVFC... /thread.AZGrizFan wrote:The BSC has a more recent champ.
