BTW, the hold on the punt return happened nearly right at the spot where the punt receiver caught the ball. He's downed almost right at that spot without that (flagrant) hold.
Joe,
I’m still waiting for Fordham to stop Towson. Oh wait…they punted one time. Once, Joe. You had no answer against Towson…none. 48 points Joe, and it could have been much, much, worse. Athens was 13-15 and they averaged over 20 yards per catch. Your players were bouncing off Victor (105 yards) – he averaged 8.8 yards per carry, Joe...think about that. Not once did you stop Towson in the second half...the game wasn't close. And in the first half, the only reason Fordham was in it was because of simple Towson mistakes...not anything that Fordham forced.
1) Running into the kicker - not Fordham's doing. That cost Towson a possession and ended up with one of your team's scores.
2) Fumbling the punt. Ditto.
3) A freak squib kick unintentionally hits a Towson player and gives Fordham the ball back.
Those are three possessions that Towson's offense would have been on the field to score again. That's football, and teams make mistakes, but don't confuse those unforced errors with any idea that Fordham could have stopped Towson, because the reality was that it simply wasn't happening.
I mean, you do realize that Towson had 21 points in the first half on only 25 snaps, right? And they were not stopped on any of their second half possessions (and were easily driving the field on their last possession - see Rams bouncing off Victor again - before they took a knee).
ESPN has the game on for review. Watch reality smack Fordham in the face. Fordham was outclassed by a mile. Decent passing offense, zero running offense, zero defense. You might have won some games against Big Fluffy teams, but Towson would win any rematch...and win big, again and again.
Oh, and check out that punt again, on your HDTV.
