Believe me, I know history...the good and the bad. You can go back further than WWII...but our game plan has always been about dealing with, or installing brutal dictators/governments, blather on about bad populists/socialists/communists/Islamist extremists/savage Indians/the Spanish/etc., fund a bunch of goons to commit some of the most undemocratic and un-'Merican behavior against their people, and sit back and talk about being the moral leader of the free world.

Of course, the same goes for the British Empire, the French Kings, the Romans, the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Persians, the Chinese dynasties...you name it. Bad things done in the name of power, the "greater good", and some self-image of being better than others.

But, I'm OK with being the alpha dog. I'm not OK with lying about it...and I think things could be done differently if everyone was honest about things.

I'll agree with klean on one thing...tell the truth. That has proven to be impossible for Obama on little things, let alone on the big picture. Of course, Obushma has plenty of company.

The real truth is that if we tell the truth, we'll see a whole bunch of sniveling a-holes, mostly Donks, having to face the truth about their lives. I'd love to see that. America runs on dunkin' other country's economies, and people, into the tank under the guise of "the enemy is out there."

Simply announce that we "can't give up the big screen TV, so I guess we'll have to bomb the crap out of some villagers"...that would cause some folks to see things differently. I'd like to see how that works out.
