Lot of firsts there. UD-DSU in 07 was filled too in a game with similar themes, though UD probably underreported severely, like it often did for playoff games (mo money).
From today's Skins game....I know it's snowing but this was 6 minutes into the game....they just came back from a commercial (at 5 minute mark of the first quarter) showing the same shot and it's still just as empty as these photos
I just drove through Landover at 11:30. You do not drive in DC when it snows unless you don't really value time or life. Once I got off 95 in NoVA, the side roads were a disaster and the drivers insane. Scary.
And let's be real for a second. The Skins are dead. Baltimore and Philly are both packed.

Make all the excuses you fucking want.
This thread was to point out embarassing attendance - and make it seem like it only happens at the MAC/Sun Belt level.
That kind of douche baggery will bring the douche bag in me out and I will point out every single empty stadium/badly attended game ever fucking chance I get.

It's not an excuse. You're cherry picking a bad team, the largest stadium (or top two or three) in the NFL, a stadium that has a horrid parking situation, a city with arguably the worst traffic in the country, on the first significant snow event of the season. Of course it's not going to be full.

Use your brain son.
I'm not cherry picking at all.
That's the only game I have on TV right now. Fox doesn't have an early game today for me.
I can start pulling pictures from NBA, NFL, NHL, european soccer leagues, etc... that will all have similar pictures - no matter how good or bad the team is.
Shit...I've posted pictures of Michigan in this thread...I've posted pictures of Iowa who is in the midst of an 8-4 season and a new years day bowl.
Cherry picking fool! Stop making fun of Andy's favorite team. There's already a story out today about Shanahan wanting to quit and clearing out his office... last year!

You want embarassing attendance numbers? SECOND ROUND PLAYOFF ATTENDANCE
1. @ North Dakota State - 18,455
2. @ Montana - 17,345
3. @ Maine - 7,992
4. @ Southeast Louisiana - 6,874
5. @ Eastern Washington - 6,127
6. @ McNeese State - 5,036
7. @ Eastern Illinois - 4,825
8. @ Towson - 4,671
outside of NDSU (dome and back to back champs and Montana who is a crazy loyal fan base) not a single school hit 5 figures
I was actually pleased with our attendance yesterday. The windchill was -15 as we were setting up the tailgate and it never really warmed up much. The stadium was around 3/4's full and we were only 1500 short of capacity versus Montana which was 8,000 short or those soft, fair weather NFL fans in DC who look to be around 50,000 short.
I wonder how this compares to DC, where practically the entire freaking crowd went home at halftime today because the Redskins were putting out such a pathetic product.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

What exactly about snowstorm in DC and a playoff-eliminated team aren't people understanding? I'm not even a Redskins fan and I can grasp this concept.
