What a drag for Southeastern Louisiana. First of all, it's kind of a drag to be playing your first playoff game and having the community all interested then have to play a conference team you played just a few weeks ago. Second, that game could've gone either way and the outcome was determined by which team made more errors. It was Sam Houston State that time but I know Southeastern Louisiana's coaches know Sam Houston State could easily have beaten them. And obviously Sam Houston State has a lot more playoff experience.

McNeese has not done well against Big Sky teams recently. I would prefer to see South Dakota State knock off Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington and have McNeese play the Jackrabbits if the Cowboys win their second round game. That's not a given at all as McNeese has really laid eggs in the playoffs starting with 2003.

But if they do get by their second round game I would prefer to see them against the Jackrabbits than, especially, at Eastern Washington. But I do think that's possible. I think South Dakota State is very capable of beating both of those Big Sky teams.

Not sure what game you watched but we dominated them in the second half, before Bell went down. They played a near flawless first half while we did not...we turned the heat up in 2nd half and dominated both lines of scrimmage...we also left at least 10 points on the field...we don't care who we play, we're ready to roll.

Well, hopefully Eastern cures the Sam Houston scourge next year when we play them at home. I like our chances with all our offensive weapons coming back and no Flanders, Bell, or Sincere.

They moved the ball in the second half as long as Bell was in. They had a wide open guy drop a TD pass then a couple of plays later Southeastern Louisiana intercepted it and returned it to deep in Sam Houston State territory. That guy dropping that TD pass turned into a 10 point turnaround. Then they were still in the game with plenty of time left and Bell got hurt at the end of a long run. After that they had no offense.

Also I think there was a key sequence at the end of the first half when Sam Houston State had two consecutive major penalties on defense to help Southeastern get a TD just before half. Would Southeastern have scored anyway? We'll never know. But those two major defensive penalties (personal foul face mask followed by pass interference) sure didn't hurt their chances.

I thought it was a very even game in terms of the teams' ability to move the ball against each other until Bell went down.

Always tough to see your team lose... and certainly with the high hopes of a program entering the playoffs for the first time in school history. That said, I applaud SUU for progress and will be looking for them to build on it. It's been huge for us to be in the Big Sky these past two years. Honored to have been selected as one of the teams from the BSC this year. Go get em Eagles, Grizz & Lumberjacks.
