So a "supreme being" that has to work within the framework of our laws of science. Interesting. Where does said supreme being live?

I don't know that anymore than you, slick. :coffee: Tell me, do you really, honestly believe that God stopped the rotation of the Earth, causing the "sun to stand still" so that Joshua could fight? Or why is everyone in the Old Testament living for 100+ years. Noah was 950 when he died. But we get to reality where life spans are nowhere near that.

There are some events like the "Great Flood", the plagues, the Parting of the Red Sea, which you can look at from a scientific point of view see that they are natural events. Mesopotamia is famous for its flooding. Maybe that's what Noah was experiencing but since he had no knowledge of science, he attributes it to punishment.

Perhaps, God didn't cause the plagues but heavy storms and rains, which are common in that area, caused mud slides and build up in the Nile, causing it to turn red. That in turn pushed all the marine life out of the water, where they die in the streets and fields, causing the death of animals and spreading disease to the people working in the fields (which include but isn't limited to first born sons.)

There's a feeling that we are more than what we appear. There's an internal feeling, that somehow I will always have a consciousness. That tells me that something larger must be at play. But if there is a supreme being that is the cause of all of this, then I must believe, using the reason and common sense bestowed on me from that creator, that it doesn't upset the natural order of things. Common sense tells me that in the absence of scientific understanding, un-explainable events were contributed to a supreme being.

And man, being corruptible, uses religion to control/manipulate people.

Sharknado led the Jews out of Israel. I had a vision last night and was told that's what really happened.

Point being, you believe in magic, just not somebody elses. That puts you in the same boat as any religion.

I wouldn't say believing in something bigger than myself is believing in magic.

Delusional, maybe. 8-)

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, but it seemed that you believe there is an etherial being that has to follow the laws of science (mind you, as we currently know them) but by their very nature lives outside of the laws of science.

I get that. And no, you aren't putting anything into my mouth. I don't mess with dudes. 8-)

I'm just stating, Noah didn't understand what was happening and the story has been embellished. Science tells us that flooding is common in that area of the world.

What if he just "wonders" about the possibility of a creator.

See the difference?

Great what-if. However, he's already said this:

Yes. It proves god is a total asshole, then felt guilty he fucked up the ant farm so he cloned himself by raping a married women, impregnating her to give birth to himself so he can grow up in utter obscurity with no eyewitnesses, then all of a sudden raise a ruckus and get killed, for our sins, whatever the fuck that means. You know, the shit GannonFool and Hen believe with all their heart and soul.
