SUU will be in the playoffs this year. Been saying that all season. SUU will probably beat a couple lowly CAA teams inroute to the Chipper. :thumb:

Bullshit. Fort Lewis isn't just a D2, they are a BAD D2. As is New Mexico Highlands and Western Oregon and Colorado Mesa and....
Whoa oh...looks like I struck a nerve...no reason to use profanity... :ohno:

Please tell us all about the juggernauts that are Norfolk State, Bryant, and DSU.

Let's keep the thread going after this weekend's games. I don't think either the Big Sky or the CAA gets 5 teams, so the most we are talking about is 1/3 of the playoff field, then we will see how it plays out. At this point, SUU is very much alive as are JMU and NH. But they all need wins. The crazy question will be concerning Montana St if they lose this weekend. Could they go from #4 to all the out of the field in 3 weeks? In that scenario, NAU and likely one other Big Sky team would join Montana and EWU.

You mean to tell me the Mighty SUPER-AWESOME CAA isn't as good as they are made out to be and won't get the usual 7 teams in? Oh, that is right, my bad. The CAA is so damn tough, it is just a blood bath and they beat up on each other...if they played in some pussy conference like the Big Sky, MVFC, or So Con they would all go 12-0 with usual 50-60 point beat downs.

I LOL'd at that too. MSU would need to get embarrassed this week and then shit the bed at home to Montana...not likely.

We're talking about a team that struggled against Weber and NoCo, and couldn't even force EWU to punt. They're on life support at this point.

:suspicious: You have issues. Where has a single CAA fan said the CAA was anything close to their former selves?? If anything, we have been more critical of the CAA than anyone else the past couple years. :tothehand:

Agreed, but SUU would only have 7. Ft Lewis doesn't count.
Way to change your tune. You're original point that I was arguing with was that Ft. Lewis doesn't count. :coffee:

The degree to which they count is certainly up for debate. I'm guessing the committee has better measuring sticks in determining resume's than how good a certain DII is versus a middle to low end of the pack weak FCS conference team. Like I suggested they're both weak wins.

Admitting you're wrong can be very liberating some times hen... :thumb:

It's actually no joke....In my mind SUU needs to win two of their last three; that means they have to either beat MSU or NAU. If they were to beat MSU they'd be in. However if that happens it means that MSU would be playing for their playoff lives against Montana in 8 days.

Im not sure a 7-5 MSU gets in ? :coffee:

I was wrong on the technicality of a D2 win "counting", but you did take it further to imply they would count the same as D1 wins...

I laughed at the MSU thing. I know SUU has to win one of the next two..and if they win them both  But I have them beating NAU and losing to MSU.

I don't think so—they probably need to win them both. An 8-4 SUU likely doesn't get in, and same goes for an 8-4 MSU. This game in Bozeman could conceivably be a playoff elimination game.

Not really. If MSU loses tomorrow afternoon THEN the Cat/Griz game would be an elimination game for the Cats.

MSU will already have 4 losses if they lose tomorrow. They certainly wouldn't be safe even if they beat the Griz after that. Losing to SUU & then beating UM would probably be better than the reverse, though, since they'd be ending on a win.

Sky gets 3, MVC 2, CAA 4.

Looks (to me, anyway) like the OVC (3), Big South (2), and SLC (3) are the big winners this year, taking bids that would normally belong to the three power conferences....

Sky gets 3? I assume you're picking SUU to beat the 'Cats & then lose to NAU.
