You are correct. I've never seen anything like it. To me perhaps the most frustrating season for a team I've ever seen. Pretty much a razor thin edge between being undefeated and looking at a top seed and the reality of being 5-5 and probably having no post season. Sad thing is that last year was almost as bad.
Drink up, my friend.

Why?
Well, with Sam Houston State there's the having the same record while having beaten Eastern Washington 49-34 and rushing for 450 yards at 8.3 yards per carry in the process. Eastern Illinois I don't know except that I'm one who believes the better power ratings represent more objective and comprehensive assessments than polls do. The two I look at the most, Sagarin and Massey, both have Eastern Illinois rated higher than Eastern WAshington.
Then again they also both have Eastern Washington rated higher than Sam Houston State.
So I guess it's hard to pick one way of looking at it.

Give FAMU some credit. They now have a quality win over 3-7 Norfolk State, and they did come within 11 touchdowns of upsetting Ohio State.
The Rattlers haven't been the same since Billy Joe manned the sidelines with his pass happy scheme in the early millenium.
FAMU, the last MEAC team that was relevant on the national scene.
