Like I said, that's fine, but there are a ton of other, more deserving teams, IMO.

That Yale loss really hurt you guys.
There will be teams with better records against weaker schedules, but that does not make them better teams or more deserving. Replace Fresno State and Colorado State with two wins against mid level FCS teams and if Cal Poly wins out they would be 9-3 with two close losses against ranked teams and a win over the 3rd ranked team. Like I said before they probably won't get in, but they certainly would not be an easy out for any team if they made it in.

Sounds like this team is in a similar situation as my Nova team. Nice wins over Towson and William and Mary (two highly ranked FCS teams) and three of their losses are closes losses to Boston College (a good FBS team), unbeaten Fordham where they turned the ball over in their last three possessions to lose by 3 points at the end of the game and another close loss to Maine by 2 points. They will finish 5-3 in the tough CAA conference but because of the scheduling they will most likely not get in. Even though they would be a very tough "out" for any team.

If NAU beats UNC and loses to SUU, they'd be 8-3, 8-2 versus FCS
If SUU loses to MSU and beats NAU, they'd be 8-4, 7-3 versus FCS + FBS Win

Both could make it, if SUU hadn't lost to UC-Davis, they'd be for sure in. That loss is a killer.
IF SUU wins out, they are 9-3, and in

I think the correct total is 6 at large(or essentially 4 each). The CAA has an argument for a 5th if JMU goes 8-4 or NH goes 7-4, while the Big Sky could get a 5th with Southern Utah. However, that is 1/3 of the playoff field and when you look hard at the other conferences, the bids just don't seem to be there. 4 max I would say for either league. I also agree that the 5th or 6th team from those conferences would be a tough out in the playoffs, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I would be surprised if the Big South didn't get 2 teams(which is 1 more than usual) and the Southern might as well(Not likely 3). Just do the analysis of all the other leagues and you will see the CAA might get 3 and/or the Big Sky might get 3 also. The TSN poll is loaded with Big Sky pollsters and also has significant CAA representation, but the committee is more even among all the conferences. I think this is a year where you are really going to be sweating if you have only 7 or 8 wins. So while they have had good seasons to this point, Montana State, Montana, Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, Towson, William & Mary, Delaware, JMU, and New Hampshire all still need at least another win at this point. The Montana/MSU game could be an elimination game next week as could Towson/JMU if W&M beats Towson on Saturday.

I think Maine and Eastern Washington are clealy superior in their respective conferences this season.

Bad game. 5 fumbles with 2 lost. Two picks. Blocked punt. Three personal fouls two which extended Yale drives when Yale failed to convert on third and long (they ended up scoring on those two drives). Montana State lost to SFA. It happens.

MSU lost on the road to SFA thats a Southland team.. Yale is in the Ivy league bro beans..And they beat you in San Luis Obispo. Ijs it sucks for cal poly bc ppl were expecting them to be in the mix this and every season..

I think NAU should get in, but if Southern Utah beats NAU i dont see how Southern Utah doesnt get in.. I think in that unique scenario, The Big Sky should get 5 teams in.

Cal Poly fans asking for at birth sympathy with 5 L's? Thats a bit extreme.. You better watch your own team bc if they lose to Montana State, which they probably will, they will find themselves on the bubble. Griz fb is the only thing alot of u Montana folk have to live for so let me remind you that MONTANA WILL NOT WIN THE BIGSKY TITLE AGAIN THIS YEAR... so yea kill yourself grizza

Not saying they'd be in at 8-4 but definitely a bubble team with two quality wins greater than some the teams they'd be competing with.
SUU with a D-II game and CLOSE wins over UNC and Weber is a "lock" over a 10-FCS win CCU squad with several blowouts on its resume?!?

Right now, I see us(Montana) making the playoffs but unless we fix our ways, we will be hard pressed to make it out of the first round. Call me a bad fan if you want for saying it but we are a big play team with no consistency on offense or defense. If I thought the coaching staff could make the changes we need to get better I wouldn't say much but I am afraid some of the problems we are having come from the top down.

There's a problem here. People here have nitpicked FBSINO wins before. S AL is 3-5...in the godawful SUN BELT. Do we REALLY give SUU brownie points for that? People didn't want to give Liberty FBS points for beating Ball State not too long ago. Can't have that both ways....

Yes, it is not like it is Georgia State. And Liberty got credit for beating Ball State

Based on what? Chokin on dick vs Montana? gtfoh. If Southern Utah beats NAU they''ve got a chance and they DONT HAVE 5 (ABOUT TO BE 6) LOSSES CAL POLY! As soon as you lost to Yale and NAU you were fxcked bc you scheduled two FBS teams and lost both.. dont stick the dick in your own ass. Dont forget you didnt even play Montana State. You got Weber, Nor Col & UC Davis.

Cal Poly, your best win is a 4 point victory against Portland State. How are you more worthy? Please tell me?

The above was based on if, and I said it was a big if, Cal Poly won out which would include a win over #3 EWU. Cal Poly would then have 7 DI wins and be 7-3 against FCS competition with a win over a top 5 FCS team.
