Re: CAA Power Rankings
1 Maine. . On merit. Dull lately but logical let down. Unh game will be interesting.
2 Towson. Sloppy loss to De causes concern
3. W & M. DEFENSE makes them dangerous in playoffs
4. UNH. They can't win on road but I'll be called a homer if I put _Nova here They might need to beat Maine so CAA can get 4 teams
5. Nova. Eye test tells me they are better than this. No bad losses. In every game -
6. De. Even though they only have 3 losses. All three showed they are not playoff caliber and schedule is as weak as anyone in CAA
7. JMU. Another team that can't win on road.
8. Richmond. Playing weaker teams now and winning. Next week De will be another tougher test for them. We will see if resurgence is real.
9. SBU. Tough season. Better than their record. CAA is really deep this year
10. Albany. Almost pulled off shocker against Black Bears.
10. URI. Bad loss this week. Could have been 70-0 if Talley didn't get Robertson out in 3rd qtr.

Your rankings show you know nothing about FCS football. But there's hope. Nova is a basketball school and basketball is starting soon!

Re: CAA Power Rankings
1. Maine- clear and significant over everyone else
2. Towson
3. W&M
4. Delaware
5. NH
6. JMU
7. Villanova(shocked they are this low- beat both W&M and Towson and might beat Delaware in two weeks, but 5 losses is too many)
8. Richmond
9. Stony Brook
10. Albany
11. Rhode Island
Have now heard posts indicating CAA might only get 3 teams. If so, all contenders need to win out. JMU and NH still alive, Nova not.

Re: CAA Power Rankings
Mark it down, Delaware is going to implode losing to both Richmond and nova the next two weeks eliminating them. UNH wins out, Maine goes 1-1, W&M goes 2-0, Towson goes 1-1.
CAA 4 playoff teams
Maine 10-2( beats uri, loses to unh)
Towson 9-3 (beats jmu loses to W&M)
W&M 9-3 ( beats towson and richmond)
UNH 7-4 ( beats albany and maine(home))
Delaware loses both to be 7-5
JMU goes 1-1 to be 7-5 they are out.

Re: CAA Power Rankings
Hope you're right. I think unh is the only team left with a chance that would get the CAA the 4th bid. Good luck with Maine. Over under would be in the 60's if I was setting it. Maine -2 pt favorite. We will do our part and crush the hens. Who knew that 2 pt conversion would mean so much!

Oh, you are a history buff! Here's the other recent scores and outcomes. I'll bet you can even figure out the trend here. You know about the hammer and the nail theory right? Not much to be envious of huh? It's the blind eye you all have when it comes to your program's weaknesses that sticks in my craw. Your schedule this year was very weak but you still don't see that it's a problem when getting into the playoffs, you ignore every computer ranking that takes it into account and scoff at their legitimate low ranking of your team.

Re: CAA Power Rankings
If Towson wins over the Tribe, I think they are the clear #2. I would think a Tribe victory might help Delaware more. Then, if Delaware wins out, they would finish tied for 2nd in the conference and 9-3 and clearly go over Towson. I guess they might go over the Tribe too if the Tribe loses Saturday, given better record. However, would be hard considering the result Saturday. Was not aware of Villanova dominance in the series against Delaware. The Wildcats are the so unknown this year. They played so well against Towson and also beat W&M, but they were terrible against JMU and lost too many games.
4 teams in would really help the Tribe, JMU, Delaware and NH. It will be tough with 3 because Maine and Towson are basically in. The Tribe's argument if they go 8-4 will be that they beat all 3 of the others. 9-3 should get the Tribe, Towson and Delaware in. I need to see who the other at large contenders are.

How's that? Towson > W&M > UD > Towson. Maine beat both W&M and UD and even with the close game this weekend are still the clear #1 and TU didn't play them.TribePride wrote:If Towson wins over the Tribe, I think they are the clear #2.

Re: CAA Power Rankings
I'm a brutally honest poster. I acknowledge Delaware's weaknesses all the time. I also acknowledge that Delaware is not eliminated from the playoffs like Villanova. Eliminated before Election Day. That is weak.vutomcat wrote:It's the blind eye you all have when it comes to your program's weaknesses that sticks in my craw.

Maybe start at the thread from our latest game and see my comment on our run stopping. It's always easiest to start with the lowest hanging fruit.vutomcat wrote:Ok. I'll take the bait. Tell me Mr. Honest, what are the weaknesses you are willing to admit to? I must have missed that post.
Please tell me that all the people that Nova graduates these days aren't as dumb as you.

The #2 slot will be resolved this weekend. Should be a hell of a game down in Williamsburg! I'll make pancakes Saturday morning for luck!

Ok, still searching , I get it. Let me give you something to comment on and prove your mettle. Here are 4 different computer rankings of Nova and Delaware.
GPI Nova 19 Delaware 29
Massey Nova 13 Delaware 27
Sagarin Nova 6 Delaware 41
Dunkel Nova 18 Delaware 37
Give me your honest comments on why all 4 of these independent rankings rank Villanova significantly higher than Delaware. I'll be interested to see if you can give a brutally honest assessment.
