  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 18-22

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 5-7

Best Performance: (#12) Montana 51, Sacramento St. 48 (OT) - Making fewer mistakes can apparently overcome just about anything, such as a school-record 505 yards of total offense and 6 total touchdowns from Hornet QB Garrett Safron.

Worst Performance: Weber St. 24, Portland St. 45 - The Wildcats aren't getting humiliated every week anymore, but being outrushed 350-59 by a middling opponent shows they're still a long way from being competitive.

Most Surprising Result: Northern Colorado 28, (#5) Montana St. 35 - The Bears pay an homage to the Scott Downing era by losing a close game against a good opponent.

Best Performance: (#25) Southeastern Louisiana 41, (#4) McNeese St. 7 - The Lions hold the high-octane Cowboys to 191 yards in an eye-opening demolition.

Worst Performance: Nicholls St. 34, Lamar 56 - Colonels lose turnovers 4-0 and give up 55+ points for the third-straight week.

Most Surprising Result: (#25) Southeastern Louisiana 41, (#4) McNeese St. 7 - Since blowing out McNeese, Northern Iowa hasn't won since. Will the same curse befall upstart SELU?

Best Performance: (#11) Youngstown St. 38, South Dakota 34 - Penguins overcome 3 lost fumbles by racking up 517 yards.

Worst Performance: Indiana St. 7, Missouri St. 49 - This game had four touchdowns off interceptions: the Sycamores got 1 for their only points in the second quarter, then the Bears got 3 in the third quarter.

Most Surprising Result: Northern Iowa 3, Illinois St. 13 - Panthers fall to 0-5 in MVFC play and put up their lowest point total against an FCS opponent since—ironically—their national-runner-up 2005 season.

Worst Performance: Austin Peay 10, Jacksonville St. 42 - Governor quarterbacks throw 26 passes and only complete 4 of them. :ohno:

Most Surprising Result: (#23) Tennessee St. 0, Eastern Kentucky 44 - History is repeating for the Tigers: they've lost 2 in a row following a 7-1 start one year after starting 7-0 and losing 3 of their last 4.

Best Performance: Butler 33, Dayton 30 - Bulldogs rebound from a bad loss & reduce the title-contender club to three thanks to a 20-3 second half.

Worst Performance: Davidson 26, Mercer 51 - The 26 points for Davidson is actually a season-high, but it's still lower than their season best for points allowed (27 vs. Drake). :ohno:

Most Surprising Result: Butler 33, Dayton 30 - Butler has now won 3 straight in Dayton after never even winning 2 straight prior to that.

These late season slides from Tenn St eventually will have the Tiger faithful asking for the coach to be put on the perverbial hot seat if he isn't already.

Given the expectations of a #12/#15 team playing a school nowhere near even sniffing the poll, I have a hard time seeing how allowing that kind of yardage and points would qualify as "best" performance in the Big Sky. UM barely squeaked that one out, and that only because of ignoramus Sac coaches....

Sac was the best team that lost, so the Griz get the best win.

OK. That I will grant. Every other winning team (with the exception of CP) gave up too many points to poor teams to get the nod.

Good point, Venus....

Patriot League

BUCK 28-7 COLG
HC 30-32 FORD
LAF 45-27 GTOWN

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 17-20

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 16-19

Best Performance: Bucknell 28, Colgate 7 - The Bison shut down Gavin McCarney at a level virtually no-one else has done by holding him to 164 yards of total offense & just 6 rushing yards.

Worst Performance: Georgetown 27, Lafayette 45 - Since blowing out Davidson nearly 2 months ago, the Hoyas have been outscored 42-18 on average in 7 straight losses.

Most Surprising Result: Holy Cross 30, (#9) Fordham 32 - Crusaders build a surprising 23-7 lead, but reality sets in as they give up exactly 700 yards to the potent Rams.

NEC

SFPA 10-21 DUQ
BRY 3-24 RMU
CCSU 52-17 WAG
MONM 21-24 SACHRT

  • NConf Record: 1-0
    Overall: 17-18

    vs. FCS: 1-0
    Overall: 11-15

Best Performance: Robert Morris 24, Bryant 3 - Colonials force 4 turnovers and get 13 tackles-for-loss as they stay in the NEC title hunt.

Worst Performance: Wagner 17, Central Connecticut St. 52 - The Seahawks' season continues to snowball as they allow a 219.6 efficiency rating to CCSU.

Most Surprising Result: St. Francis (PA) 10, Duquesne 21 - The Red Flash were looking to sneak into the auto-bid race against a reeling Dukes squad, but forgot to start their engines as they put up just 131 yards of offense.

CAA

SBU 14-19 MAINE
URI 14-66 ODU
UD 32-31 TOW
ALB 10-27 RICH
UNH 0-17 W&M
NOVA 21-31 JMU

  • NConf Record: 0-1
    Overall: 24-17

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 22-7

Best Performance: (#21) Delaware 32, (#7) Towson 31 - The Hens put perhaps their whole season into one two-point gamble and it pays off as they overcome a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Worst Performance: Albany 10, Richmond 27 - At 1-8, the Danes have lost more than 7 games for just the second time in their history (they went 0-10 in '95).

Most Surprising Result: (#7) Towson 31, (#21) Delaware 32 - The Tigers built a 31-10 lead & won the rushing battle 332-90, but they somehow couldn't prevent Delaware from gaining 214 yards in the final 13:21.

Big South

VMI 7-17 LIB
war 14-51 GWEBB
CHAR 25-50 CCU
CHSO 27-16 PRESBY

  • NConf Record: 2-0
    Overall: 24-14

    vs. FCS: 1-0
    Overall: 15-7

Best Performance: (#6) Coastal Carolina 50, Charlotte 25 - The Chants are outscoring their opponents by more than 3 touchdowns per game despite a mediocre scoring defense number of 26.2 ppg.

Worst Performance: VMI 7, Liberty 17 - A good performance by VMI standards, but not good enough to avoid falling to 1-8.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

MEAC

HOW 20-22 DSU
HAMP 27-30 MORG
FAMU 16-6 NFOLK
vul 12-59 NCAT
BCU 38-14 NCCEN
SCSU 45-9 SAV

  • NConf Record: 1-0
    Overall: 13-28

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 5-15

Best Performance: (#14) Bethune-Cookman 38, NC Central 14 - The Wildcats win rushing 436 to -1 as they easily dispatch a team thought to be a MEAC contender at one point.

Worst Performance: Norfolk St. 6, Florida A&M 16 - Spartans "top" FAMU's 65 passing efficiency stat by putting up an even more pitiful 38.5 rating.

Most Surprising Result: Norfolk St. 6, Florida A&M 16 - NSU squanders the momentum gained from nearly upsetting ODU and they lose their 4th. in a row.

SoCon

FUR 16-14 GASO
SAM 26-28 CIT
UTC 35-28 APP

  • NConf Record*: 2-0
    Overall: 15-19

    vs. FCS*: 0-0
    Overall: 4-8

Best Performance: The Citadel 28, (#15) Samford 26 - The Citadel prevents Samford from getting a clean sweep of the SoCon option teams by outrushing them 338-65.

Worst Performance: (#15) Samford 26, The Citadel 28 - A surprising loss to be sure, but it doesn't change much for Samford because winning out will still give them the conference.

Most Surprising Result: The Citadel 28, (#15) Samford 26 - This is the fifth time this season a team has scored exactly 28 points in a game involving The Citadel (sixth time in regulation).

* - I know App State & Georgia Southern are still technically in the SoCon this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for SoCon teams (same idea as Georgia State last season & UMass the year before).

Tomorrow: Ivy, SWAC & Indies.

Pretty much. They just have to win 2 out of 3 against not-so-good competition.

Ivy League

DART 21-24 HARV
PENN 0-27 BROWN
COLUM 12-53 YALE
COR 20-53 PRINCE

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 13-11

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 13-11

Best Performance: Brown 27, Penn 0 - John Spooney runs for 232 yards—including two 90+ yard touchdowns—as the Bears leave Princeton as the lone Ivy unbeaten.

Worst Performance: Columbia 12, Yale 53 - Columbia has been outscored 296-57 so far this season.

    Most Surprising Result: (none)

SWAC

SU 31-24 TXSO
MVSU 40-47 GRAM
ALST 14-48 UK
AAMU 19-18 ALCORN

  • NConf Record: 0-1
    Overall: 3-18

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 1-8

Best Performance: Alabama A&M 19, Alcorn St. 18 - The Bulldogs overcome a 15-0 deficit to take the lead in the third quarter… and that's how the game ended.

Worst Performance: Mississippi Valley St. 40, Grambling 47 - The Delta Devils end Grambling's nearly two-year nightmare by allowing 7 total touchdowns to QB Johnathan Williams.

Most Surprising Result: Alcorn St. 18, Alabama A&M 19 - The Braves are still alive in the SWAC-East race, but this loss really hurt by putting them 2 games back & into third place.

Independents

UIW 47-43 mcmur
MONM 21-24 SACHRT
CHAR 25-50 CCU

  • Non-Ind. Record*: 1-2
    Overall: 17-17

    vs. FCS*: 0-2
    Overall: 7-13

    Best Performance: (none)

Worst Performance: Incarnate Word 47, (DII) McMurry 43 - The Cardinals did win, unlike the other indies, but giving up 593 yards to a 1-7 DII team is still pretty bad.

Most Surprising Result: Monmouth 21, Sacred Heart 24 - Not really surprising, but this loss did end Monmouth's 5-game winning streak in Fairfield.

* - Old Dominion is a first-year transitional, so I'm counting them as FBS and not counting them as an FCS Independent.

Southern assured themselves their first winning SWAC record since 2009. With a win the Jags will have their first non losing season since that time.

I can hardly wait to see that WR Randall Menard he looks like NFL material with decent size 6-3 190.Grambling is going to play like a team with nothing to lose in the Bayou Classic.

The Citadel didn't play well. I was there. They blocked a 2 point conversion to win, and that was at the last minute. :coffee:

You must have been giving head at the pisswall then, since you missed those sacks in Summerlin and all the forced 3-and-outs. That last scoring drive was the only thing of note Samford was able to achieve in the second half.
