Over half is minor? Regardless, can you buy 20 joints for $5? Furthermore, like I said, people are accustomed to buying pot illegaly. I'm guessing most tobacco smokers wouldn't know where to buy black market cigarettes.

People prefer to buy things legally.

Most people are too lazy to grow their own vege's.

People are used to buying pot in the shadows and they really prefer to buy things cheaply, ESPECIALLY when they know "the man" isn't getting a cut.

People are lazy and into convenience. A few will grow their own, someday you might even be able to get it at farmers markets and U-pick fields. Mostly, it will come from licensed shops and eventually C-stores and Costco.

Hell yes there is. Virginia to New York is the biggest smuggling route in the country due to the price disparity. It even hits the states in between. There was a convenience store hit in DE where they pulled guns, took no cash, but emptied the place of every carton of cigarettes.

Just in case anyone out west wasn't aware, a pack of cigarettes costs $15 in New York. $6 in Delaware, two hours away. You can see how small-time criminals feel the allure.

I smoked weed from the time I was 16 until I was 48 when I quit. I wish to hell it had been legal and I could have grown my own legally in my yard. I was paying $400+ an ounce for the mongo hydro stuff the last few years I smoked... no telling how much $$$ I dropped (and made) on weed in my life.

Don't think it will happen to the same degree as cigs. Cigs are one of the most addicting things on the planet. Pot isn't. MOF, the more pot you smoke, eventually - the less you will want to smoke.
