vs. FCS: 0-0 Overall: 5-7
Best Performance: (#19) Northern Arizona 39, Sacramento St. 38 - After falling behind by 17 in the third quarter, backup QB Chase Cartwright comes in to lead the 'Jacks to touchdowns on each of his first four drives. NAU only had 6 total offensive TDs on the season prior to Cartwright's insertion.
Worst Performance: Northern Colorado 26, Idaho St. 40 - NoCo's respectable defensive stats coming in must've been misleading because allowing 532 total yards and 157 rushing yards to Idaho State is pretty darn pathetic.
Most Surprising Result: Portland St. 7, Southern Utah 17 - If you would've told me Portland State held a team under 200 yards, I would've assumed the Vikings won in a blowout. Instead, thanks to 5 turnovers, they lost. Incidentally, that's the second time this season a Big Sky team has won with fewer than 200 yards (NAU over Davis).

Best Performance: Southeastern Louisiana 56, Stephen F. Austin 14 - The Lions make Brady Attaway, and by extension the Montana State defense, look terrible.
Worst Performance: Northwestern St. 21, Nicholls St. 33 - The Demons hand Nicholls their first FCS win in 3 years.
Most Surprising Result: Lamar 3, (#2) Sam Houston St. 14 - Holding SHSU to 14 points is damn impressive, but the Cardinal offense couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
Best Performance: Southern Illinois 24, (#4) Northern Iowa 17 (OT) - Some key plays for UNI kept an otherwise dominant performance close, but the Salukis still come away with a big upset.
Worst Performance: Indiana St. 14, South Dakota 17 - The Sycs continue to prove they're not much beyond Shakir Bell as their quarterbacks throw for just 82 yards on 25 attempts.
Most Surprising Result: Southern Illinois 24, (#4) Northern Iowa 17 (OT) - The Salukis have now won 5 of the last 6 over the Panthers and they pull even in the overall series for the first time since the early '90s.
Best Performance: Tennessee St. 31, (#24) Jacksonville St. 15 - Tim Broughton runs for 190 yards in a nice "upset" for the Tigers.
Worst Performance: Murray St. 34, Southeast Missouri St. 37 (3OT) - They racked up a good deal of yards as usual, but the Racers still find a way to end SEMO's 8-game losing streak.
Most Surprising Result: Southeast Missouri St. 37, Murray St. 34 (3OT) - The Redhawks have now won more games against Murray in the last 9 years (5) than they had in the entire prior history of the series (4).

Worst Performance: Wagner 7, Duquesne 34 - Seahawk quarterbacks are averaging only 128 passing ypg with a pathetic 85.9 efficiency rating this year.
Most Surprising Result: St. Francis (PA) 28, Monmouth 10 - The Red Flash win consecutive games over Monmouth for the first time ever.

Best Performance: (#15) Villanova 45, (#3) Towson 35 - A barrage of early misfortune for the other team always helps, as the Wildcats forced 3 turnovers and blocked a PAT in the first quarter.
Worst Performance: Rhode Island 19, (#25) New Hampshire 59 - The Rams have now lost 7 straight and 12 of the last 13 in Durham.
Most Surprising Result: (#3) Towson 35, (#15) Villanova 45 - A combination of turnovers & long scores led to the Tigers only running 11 offensive plays in the first half.

Worst Performance: Gardner-Webb 7, (#8) Coastal Carolina 42 - Apparently the Bulldogs can only win when they don't score touchdowns.
Most Surprising Result: (#8) Coastal Carolina 42, Gardner-Webb 7 - What's more surprising, that Coastal won in a blowout or that Gardner-Webb actually outgained them by a yard?

Most Surprising Result: (#23) Samford 34, (FBS) Appalachian St. 10 - In their last opportunity, Samford gets their first conference win over App.
* - I know App State & Georgia Southern are still technically in the SoCon this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for SoCon teams (same idea as Georgia State last season & UMass the year before).
