I was financed an amount that the creditor believed I could easily repay in a specified period of time. The minute I no longer exhibit that status, it is taken away.dbackjon wrote:CAA Flagship wrote:I mean debt is bad and should be avoided.

Debt on a global level is given a lot more leeway on the repayment schedule but at this time, the fan is on and the shit is airborne.

Interestingly enough...
Massive Tax evasion by the ultra wealthy is considered as much a reason for Greek financial issues as any other circumstance.
I find that hysterical actually

Goldman Sachs had zero problem adding to Greeks debt in order to "help them out."CAA Flagship wrote:I was financed an amount that the creditor believed I could easily repay in a specified period of time. The minute I no longer exhibit that status, it is taken away.dbackjon wrote:

I figured they be fairly neutral.

Italy is headed for a similar problem
Culturally they want "services" provided and all that
But a huge percentage of their economy is underground / concealed from the federal governments taxation and the wealthy are extremely adept at avoiding taxation
It's headed for a rough conclusion...

This guy explains things in a way my pea brain can understand. He made the video during the debt "crisis" last year, but it is still pretty relevant.

Ruh Row...conk austerity fail...
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre ... europe-imf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Greece: signs of growth come as austerity eases
The IMF's austerity plan hasn't worked. Greece's possible recovery is down to a construction programme boosting the economy
Of course, Greece is still far from out of the woods. With a debt-to-GDP ratio of 176% (it was about 115% when Greece began austerity), and facing high interest rates if it returns to market financing, there could be more crises and another debt restructuring ahead. And even if the return to growth this year convinces investors to put their money in Greece, it will take years for unemployment to reach humane levels.

So, comparing banking systems with Iceland is a massive fail, but comparing economies to Greece is cool?
