UNI has had 3 brothers on campus playing basketball at UNI now (Adam 06/07-09/10, Jake 08/09-12/13, and Bennett 13/14-depends on a redshirt). All three were/are at least 6'9, and the first two were all conference players (Adam being conference POY and Jake being 1 of only 2 players in MVC history with 500 pts (finished his career with over 1000 points), grab at least 500 rebounds, have at least 100 made threes, at least 100 assists, at least 100 blocks, at least 100 steals in his career).

The say it Cook.

Wichita State's basketball arena is Koch Arena and it's said Coke...
That's how my last name is. It could be prounouced "car" "care" or "curr".
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17

If that's the way you wanna spin it, Limbaugh, have at it. Rather a blind Conk resolution based on lies and oil lust than peaceful capitulation to worldwide decree? Typical Conk shit - the more brown-skinned blood spilled, the better.

If using an actual voting record is "spinning", then I'm guilty as charged. :coffee: I think most people in the US wanted blood after 9/11 and we were sold a bill of goods on who to attack, no question about that. Hindsight being 20/20 we should have blasted the Saudis, but to your point we can't/won't exploit our own oil reserves so we have too much reliance on them to do so.

BHO attempted the same rallying cry as Bush/Cheney with attacking Syria, but it fell on deaf ears because he's managed to keep us embroiled in a meaningless war and Americans are tired of fighting with no objective in sight. Putin saw an opportunity to keep one of his trading partners in business with brokering a deal and in the process making our head honcho look like a chump...win/win for Russia.
Hannity!

Man, I KNOW you didn't graduate from an accredited college in the U.S.

I accept your apology for being superficial about this whole thing. You only read headlines, don't you?

I normally read the entire Fox/CNN/MSNBC/CBS/ABC/Yahoo/Guardian takes on most bigger stories to get a more well-rounded view realizing the truth is somewhere in the middle. Life is short, but getting all news from one outlet leads one to become overly biased. :coffee:

I think I told you this before, 8Ball: Listen to what Cap'n Cat says and you will never be led astray.

Re the Iraq War vote, do you remember what was going on at the time? Post-Twin Towers uber-patriotism! A no vote was a vote against US soldiers. Wish those Dems woulda had the courage to buck Bush, regardless, but there was no way out for them. Also, the case for the war as based on lies, brother - imaginary WMD's in imaginary places. That's what I mean by superficial.

...and I've said numerous times that we picked the little sister of the "axis of evil" to commence bombing. We didn't want to mess with Iran or NoKo mostly because we might get our asses handed to us and there were no yellow people piloting the planes that we could connect to 9/11. Plus we knew what we were dealing with from a war superiority perspective based on Gulf War I.

Regarding the uber-patriotism, I alluded to that with my comment about everyone being out for blood post 9/11. Iraq war didn't need to happen - the world is better off without Saddam and his kids, but the middle east abhors a power vacuum as we've seen with our withdrawal. Ten years of war and nation building on our behalf and the same tribes and factions (and Iran) have made the place as much of a shithole as it was in 2000. Twelve years of US involvement in the area are a blip on the radar for tribes and religious factions that have hated each other for centuries....we should get the hell out and stop being world police anyway. :twocents:

Update: Taliban (ConkEast) glad she did not get Nobel Peace Prize. Still want to kill her. Rumor has it that Limbaugh, Baldy and Rove lobbied award body to nudge her out.
