Young offensive line paving way for Bucs' spread option offense
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Gabe Giardina has a simple message for his linemen.
"We're always talking to our guys about trying to be physically dominant for four quarters, and trying to wear people down and break their will," Giardina said.
The Bucs' young offensive line accomplished just that on Saturday afternoon at Kidd Brewer Stadium, dominating the line of scrimmage to lead CSU to a 27-24 win over Appalachian State. CSU enjoyed touchdown drives of 17 and 16 plays in the victory, and held possession of the football for an astounding 42:04. The Bucs ran for 298 yards and nearly five yards a carry as junior Christian Reyes led the way with a career-high 167 yards and a touchdown on a single-game CSU record 34 carries.............
