It is important because, once again, the "tolerant" Libs are trying to stop others (those they don't like) from expressing themselves.

Your'e an idiot.. :dunce: Not state sanctioned. The NCAA can't do a thing...If every state that had a bunch of folks in some woods raise a battle flag lost post season NCAA events, there wouldn't be post season NCAA events in at most states.
It's already happened, BDK. The NCAA has banned championship events in South Carolina for YEARS because of the Confederate Battle Flag.

Apparently, that doesn't matter to the NCAA, 93. They don't care what ANYONE thinks about ANYTHING they do.

Why has the NCAA operated tournaments in New Orleans which is in the same state that produced David Duke?

Because they have a double standard. Why is that so surprising?

Also, they were pressured into the South Carolina thing by one of the coaches associations....

Plans are in the works in terms of bringing a bowl game to Charleston. :coffee: The NCAA should stay out of political and state matters. Besides, the NCAA does have events here. You should really read up on the matter. We have basketball and baseball tourneys as well as playoff games. We also lose out on many games because of this Economic Terrorist threat imposed by the NAACP...oops I mean the NCAA.

If you truly believe in people's "freedoms" you shouldn't have any problem with people burning a flag.

Ironically the "honorable" way to retire a flag is by.. you guessed it- burning it.

It is the most "patriotic" method to retire a flag- by burning-
yet, simultaneously is the most "unpatriotic" method! -

It's funny- people say they love "freedom" and in the same breath say they don't think people should be allowed the "freedom" to burn an inanimate object.. Do you, or do you not believe in freedom?

“Their flag is out of context,” said Richmond attorney Brian Cannon, who notably organized a social media protest over the I-95 flag. “It’s a symbol of divisiveness and for many it’s hateful.”
People like this really get me. If you don't do what they want, you're being "divisive."

To them, "divisive" means "disagreeing with me." And the whole time THEY are the real catalysts of division.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

I fly the Stainless Banner every May 10th on Confederate Memorial Day. I do it to honor the lives of the common grunt soldier who went to war and died. It's not a way to glorify a bygone time, or honor the political leadership that led to these mens' deaths. They were unfortunately fighting for a lost cause that was fueled, if not entirely then at least very much so, by the unworthy desire to keep the slave economy of the South intact. They died for rich landowners who threw them into a conflict that they knew they could not win. They died because of a tyrant president who subverted the constitution and destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives. They died as pawns in a ridiculous game played by rich and powerful men. Much like every other war since. They were mostly poor, uneducated common men with no real stake in the causes, but they fought valiantly and with honor. They deserve to be memorialized. That's all. If you don't agree with it, then don't observe it. It's OK. :coffee:
