Tea Party

Post by ∞∞∞ »

With the GOP divided among the Tea Party and the rest of its members, has the Tea Party transformed from a collective action to its own political party? I understand that it's still technically part of the GOP as that's where the majority of their funding comes from, but in the spirit of democracy, they have seemingly become their own entity with unique ideas and constituents.

I think there might be a serious rift in the GOP. That might be a good thing long term for the entire system. Screw the establishment...go Tea Party!

the only way a person could think that "rift" (if it exists) could be GOOD for the entire system is if they are a blue blood donk. Because any rift (again, if it exists) ensures donk rule, which is in no way a good thing for this country.

You laugh, but at least the conservative side can say that they don't march in lock step with what the RNC says. I sympathize with the Tea Party because they have the spine to divide the GOP over certain core principles. Neither the mainstream GOP nor the Tea Party represent my own interests, but I admire the Tea Party.

Guys like you would rather go to an early grave than break with your party line, and in 10 years we are going to see much larger, existential problems with the Democratic Party because of it.

So keep on laughing Bubba.

Congress does seem to be getting more "tripartisan". I've said it before... whoever the 2016 Republican candidate is will be trying to herd cats. There is no way you are getting conservative independents, tea partiers, social conservatives, and Paulite types behind one guy.

Actually, that sounds like the perfect combination for Rand Paul.

Hardly. But for the CURRENT system, the rift isn't good. I'm no fan of the current system, but unfortunately the only "cure" may be the death of the country--which is happening before our eyes with the inmates (Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Kerry, etc.) running the asylum.

In our partisan country, if they do, they will have lost what little power/relevance they have.
