Never heard from the TEA Party (that according to BDK existed while Bush was in office and opposed Bush) when they were being pushed through, or the Rx Drug Benefit legislation. I watched the GOP 2012 debates & when pretty much most, if not all of the candidates were asked about turning the economy around they almost universally talked of decreasing regulation & living in a market economy to spur competitiveness. Unfortunately, when it comes to health care these things couldn't be further from reality.

There is a surgical center on Oklahoma that has been all over the news for the past year because they don't take Medicare, or any government $$ and they list all their prices per procedure just like you'd see at a fast food restaurant. Ask a major hospital anywhere in the country to do that & watch them stutter & stammer around and give you 25 reasons why they can't. If everyone did that what you'd see is prices drop significantly at many places that up-charge you ridicuously. Who makes $$ in this current system? Hospitals, surgery centers and insurance carriers. Who loses? Us.
