Each and every one of the drug dealers and felons in prison knew that the felonious behavior they engaged in was illegal and knew- if not exactly then generally- what the risk and potential consequences of that behavior was prior to engaging in it, yet they chose to engage in it and now bear the consequences of their choices and actions.
No pity here whatsoever...
They get to keep the money and don't actually go to jail at anything near the same prosecution rate

I don't think anyone disputes that blacks are disproportionately affected by the war on drugs.
But nobody really stops to think why this is. Go do a few ride-alongs with your local PD- especially in a city like Charleston where you have a wide demographic range in a very small area. If your eyes are open you'll see an unmistakeable pattern.
