We're not going to "sneak up" on Delaware this year, thanks to Jacksonville. Plus with our inexperienced QBs we have, anything less than a 4 TD+ victory for the Hens will be a disappointment.

I see the blue hens fixing our special teams problems from the opener, rolling up 300+ yards rushing and rolling to a 52-17 win on saturday. For the season I predict 8-4 and a playoff berth come november.

8-4 or 7-5 sounds about right to me. Losses to Navy and Towson, and two more somewhere along the line to some combination of JMU, Richmond or Nova. The trip to Maine is never easy either.

The easy D-1 win is perfect for UD, but the financial concessions UD is forced to make to DSU could be what ultimately ends the series. UD makes more money bringing in a Monmouth or a Duquesne.

I never thought that this should be an "annual" series. But we should play every once in awhile. Only reason we should play every year is if DSU and UD were in the same conference which will NEVER happen.
Bring us into the Tub every three of four years. That way there won't be a class that didn't see this game. Honestly I'd rather play an FBS opponent because we would make more money that way as well.
I always wondered as a kid in the 70's and 80's sitting in the stands at delaware stadium, why we never would play delaware state, obviously being very naieve as a child about the finances of college football and all manner of the games played behind the scenes between schools, conferences and of course the ncaa. Now that the game is a yearly reality, and having the advantage of a decent education to guide me, this game has not been nor probably ever be very competative, as mentioned above it is not a winner moneywise for UD and delstate brings very few fannies in seats. It seems the only reason for the game to continue being played is the political heavyweights in the state want it played for their own political purposes. I have lived out of state for over twenty five years but from talking to people I know still there that is what I am hearing. Anybody else care to enlighten me if I am wrong here? Thanks.

I agree DSU rocks, every third. or fourth year would be more sensible. The schools are like bigger, older brother and scrawny little step brother. I root to see the hornets do well in the meac, but it seems the gap between the two schools will always be a mile wide. No matter the result saturday, I wish you and the hornets good luck the rest of your season sir.

Nope, that's not what our chicks look like. I sent Bobby a pic earlier. He can attest.
