Reading is fundamental. Still didn't provide that link. ONE to ONE basis.

We are, but do you really think more young people are smoking pot today compared to when we were teens? I don't believe that for a second.

BTW, when I went to CO this summer my 15 yo son was upset that there would be people smoking pot everywhere since it was now legal. :thumb:
At least as many.

They will, but we've learned a few things since cigarettes and beer were marketed to pregnant women.

The fact that people can easily grow the shit and produce exceptionally high quality product reduces their dependency on the industry.

I'll take capitalism
You don't really believe that making pot illegal will cut out smugglers, do you? That's a very naive stance IMO.

Because it is simple to grow reefer compared to making wine or beer.

The money will be in adding value, like edibles.
See above. You're either kidding yourself or plain old ignorant if you think the industry won't grow like a weed (obviously double entendre in tended). There will be designer pot for every occassion.

Of course it will, and there already is designer pot. Some people like growing there own vegetables too. I have some great heirloom tomatoes in my garden. A few are getting ripe. In the meantime, I'll swing by the store for my BLT's. You're making this WAY harder than it needs to be.

False equivalency, just like BDCKHD.

It's simple to grow reefer and any body with a garden will simply grow a couple of plants too. Does this mean nobody will by weed? Obviously not.

WTF are you talking about? It's estimated that 1M people brew their own beer at least once per year (American Homebrewers Association). Homebrewing doesn't put a speck of a dust particle of a dent in the beer industry.

It means I haven't tried to find out and don't really care. You seem desperate to say something, anything, that shows you are up to speed on the issue. Its just a plant, chill out. If you want to know more ask your kids, they can get you the nuggs.

Duse what is wrong with you that you equate people growing their own with no industry springing up? The industry is already everywhere, it just isn't legal.

That's a different argument. The original comment was related to dependence on industry.

Cop out. All I asked was did you think, not show me proof. I'm not sure you understand the point behind discussion boards.

BTW, opium is just a plant too.

My original comment was not related to dependence on the industry... YOU made that comment. My point is that it's comical that many of you believe this will just be happy little pot smokers who now enjoy being able grow and smoke an ounce without the fear of being criminals. I'm not worried about those folks.

The pot industry also doesn't have to lie or shield customers from severe health consequences of its product. Pot industry does not have to rely on abusers and addicts for most of its profits either. You'll see an industry rise further once legal, but it will be much different.

Oh Jeeezus.

Let me help you here: Pot is already illegal and yes there are lots of smugglers. You need to spend some time toking with your kids and letting them coach you up.
