Agree with comments...o was potent in the end, and d aggressive. Great game...and the Uconn knockout was epic.

I don't hate 'em. They're my second favorite team behind my alma mater. Only time I pull against them would be if they played McNeese State. The reason? In this era in which everybody thinks you have to play fancy pantsy bells and whistles flag football type offense they play old school, physical offensive football under a Tom Osborne disciple. They show it can be done.

Oh...and they play defense.

I love their brand of football and I love the way they play it. Sure, it's bandwagon to some extent but if they had a Hal Mumme type offense I wouldn't be pulling for them. It's the winning with the brand of football I like. I watched that game every play from start to finish last night and enjoyed it thoroughly.

On that drive, North Dakota State converted all four third down opportunities it had and even with the clock ticking towards zeros, was patient enough to stay with the running game. Of the seven plays the Bison ran inside the KSU 35, six were running plays and four netted either six or seven yards. If you didn't know which team was in which division, you wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.

This here..... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

NDSU is not flashy but they will pound you to death. Power west-coast offense....I love it. All these spread type offenses are fine but it love it when a team lines up and you know what they are going to do and still cannot stop it.

Better team won the game.

Only the 1st game of the year. 10 more to go and possibly 4 after that.

Clearly the best team in FCS this decade, and possibly of all time depending how the playoffs shake out this season and next. Congrats.

A great win, but let's not get carried away.

People thought App. State was unbeatable after they beat Michigan and although they three-peated year, they weren't unstoppable. Personally, I think NDSU will three-peat but may lose one RS game (South Dakota State?).

No guarantees. I think that over the past couple of years the MVC moved past the CAA as the toughest conference top to bottom and I expect it to be that way again this year. The Bison had their hands full in a number of conference games during their two championship years. Sure if you have to pick one team they're the one team most likely to win. But they've got a tough row to hoe getting through the MVC and into the playoffs. I think they will, but it's not a done deal by any means.

Also, as you recall, they had their hands full with both Wofford and Georgia Southern in last year's playoffs. They weren't head and shoulders above everybody else like Marshall was in 1996. That 1996 Marshall team was the best ever relative to the rest of the subdivision. The rules were different then so that's a factor but if you want to pick the best single I-AA/FCS team of all time relative to where everybody else was at the time that was the one. Nobody even remotely threatened to beat them and they went through the playoffs without breaking a sweat blowing out a really GREAT Montana team in the championship game.

Big win against a very good FBS team.
Not cool because an NC should be a bigger game and the Bison have 2 of those. Yes it's great to beat a BCS Team (and it's good for all of FCS when it happens) but the objective is to win the NC. I would rather UNI lose to Iowa State tonight and win the NC than beat Iowa State and not win the NC.

Great game Bison!

what's the over/under on how long it takes the Big 12 to tuck their tail between their legs and announce the end of scheduling FCS games like the Big Ten is moving towards?
If we win at Iowa State tonight it will be one more step in that direction. :twocents:

Big win for the Bison, definitely.
but it is also the first game of the season, with NDSU having returned a big percentage of their starters from last year, while KSU had a bunch of new players.

Really....you're going with this....

They are the reigning Big 12 champions and still have 85 scholarships the last time I looked. Plus they supposedly had one of the best O-lines in the country.....and they ran for 41 yds.

1st of 11 games this season with a possibility of 4 more.

definitely. it's a bigger win than anything UNI has done. (if UNI had been able to score on that last drive against Wisconsin last season, that may have matched this one, but they didn't). I just don't consider it the biggest win in NDSU history.

How good KSU does this year will determine the scope of the game. No matter what, I agree, it won't be the biggest win by NDSU. Championships are bigger than money games.
