A monkey with a grenade!

Post by YoUDeeMan »

"A Russian deputy prime minister said Tuesday that Western countries were behaving in the Islamic world like a “monkey with a grenade,” according to the al Arabiya news channel."

So true.

In related news, the Brits have delayed their support for attacks.

"Memories of the 2003 Iraq War and political wrangling stalled a key British government vote over U.S.-led plans to strike Syria -- which officials initially said could be launched as early as Thursday.

British Prime Minister David Cameron was forced to change his stance late Wednesday, saying military action would have to wait until the U.N. Security Council had seen the findings of inspectors in Damascus and the U.K. parliament had held two votes, one of them scheduled for next week. Britain's role in the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, which was based on evidence of weapons of mass destruction that later turned out to be false, remains a controversial and divisive issue.

It leaves President Barack Obama facing the prospect of having to act unilaterally, without the support of key allies, or delay strikes that officials had earlier indicated could come as early as Thursday night."

David Ignatius, a WashPo columnist who generally supports Obama, said in essence that BHO has to lob a missile or two at Syria to save US credibility in the Middle East. He also said that Barry should never have used that "red line" image.

George Will, on the other hand, said that BHO's passionate love of his own rhetoric has backed him into a corner, that we have no interest in Syria, and that we should butt out. :thumb:

If we weren't on the brink of WWIII, this whole situation would be comical.

World War 3? Many consider that to be the Cold War or the War on Terrorism.

Yeah. I can see the post 9/11 wars in Afganistan and Iraq as being WWIII, but when Russia and China start getting involved, it really solidifies things.

Exactly. People don't know or realize that Operation Enduring Freedom is in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Horn of Africa, Phillipines, Caribbean, Central America and Trans- Sahara (remember Mali?). October 7, 2001 began OEF with fighting in Afghanistan. We're coming up on 12 years of war. :ohno:
