First of all, if they looked around, just a little bit, they probably would have seen each other before they saw the white guy...unless it was dark, then you could excuse them for the oversight.
Secondly, it does matter. White people need a high profile priest/preacher-turned-politician/activist to drum up a million man march against black racism. Think of the ratings! Of course, one would have to find one million unemployed white people with nothing else to do with their time...but we're working on that.
