You don't think the efficiency will drop? All he had to do half the time last year was throw it up to Kaufman & he would catch it. That's gone now.
It's hard to tell really. It'll probably drop off some, but not as much as people are expecting it to I would imagine. We of course won't be at the beginning of 2013 where we were at the end of 2012. Losing Kaufman, Edwards, and Herd is obviously huge but I think people overplay that a little. Before those three we had to replace guys like Boyce and Overbay who were equally as important to those teams as that trio of guys were to the '10, 11, and '12 teams. So if you believe that pass efficiency will suffer mostly because we have to replace three All-American recievers, what I would suggest is that we have three more already in the program that haven't played yet. Kupp will be one of those guys and there's a couple 6'3 and 6'4 type guys that will probably fall in that category at some point as well.

Besides, even with all the talent in the world at reciever you still have to have the Qb to be able to get them the ball. Being able to come in during the second half of a semi-final game and throw 6 Td passes (as a Freshman) is pretty remarkable.
This.

It's easier to remember Kauf's circus catches than the majority of ball which were delivered with accuracy and that smaller receivers would catch too.

You'd think we just graduated three Harold Carmichaels.

So basically...

We love JJ
Lead UM to semi-finals in one season as starter
Missed year while suspended from team

EWU fans love Adams
Lead EWU to semi-finals in one season as semi-starter
Lost the best receiving corps in FCS

That it total bullshit. Name one academic non-qualifier that has played WR at EWU in the past 10 years. Moreover, the only prop 48's I can even think of that have been impact players at any position at EWU have been Jones and Williams. Nice try.

How so? Brock made a jab that had no real factual basis, so I thought I'd return the favor. Granted you guys did let Poole back onto the team. ;)

You don't think QBs get better from year one to year two?
Yes, but usually not that much. Remember Jason Murrieta?

I disagree. I'd argue that most QBs observe the largest growth in their performance from their first year to their second (starting) in a program, presuming no major scheme or coaching changes. Matt Nichols from '06-'07 for example. It'd be intersting to see the numbers over a large sample size.

Which bodes VERY well for JJ, since this is his second year starting in the program. :coffee: :coffee:

Again, assuming he picks up where he left off in 2011. I don't think that's just a "given" at this point.

Yet somehow the Eagles lose three receivers to the NFL and EWOOO fans here don't think there'll be an issue because apparently there's more NFL level talent in the wings....kind of like MSU losing their top 5 players on defene (and two more to injury since then) and claiming they won't miss a beat....it's a fucking miracle!

Again, I don't think that there won't be some drop-off in that area, I just don't think it'll be as much as some on here do. There is a lot of talent there and Eastern is a program that historically develops Qb's and WR's better than any other team in the Big Sky.

Also, I never said it's not possible Johnson won't pick up where he left off.

Opinions are like, well you know.

Yeah, you haven't "guaranteed" any of that stuff, but you're gonna bitch like hell at anyone suggesting otherwise.
