She's being berated (by me at least) because she has no sense of courtroom decorum, was disrespectful to the defense attorney, can't understand that "cracker" is a racist term, among dozens of other things I don't care to list.
If she is the future of America then we are truly fucked. I don't care how many languages were spoken in all the baby momma homes she was raised in. I just wish she'd have laid off the cheesy poofs and learned some manners.
I'm white. Cracker isn't a racist term. It may hurt "white feel feels" but it has nowhere near the historical and social implications of the n word. If you don't believe me, referring to said word as "the n word" makes people know what word I'm talking about almost universally. When you say the C word, not so much.
When blacks call people crackers it's different than when whites call blacks the n word, because blacks are suspicious of whites because white culture/society has done all it can to marginalize them at any given chance to this day. So, in that sense its justified. Now, when white people call blacks the n word, it's done with a little more social power and the social acceptance of it contributes to the mindset of a society that has blacks stopped and frisked in New York something like 10 times more likely than their white counterparts, gives whites with with a felony offense a higher probability of getting called back for a job than their black counterparts, and has blacks being more probable to be arrested for drug offenses than their white counterparts who are more likely to use drugs....and other such instances of racial discrimination.
TL;DR the n word is offense because whites have social and economic power, blacks don't, so when they use the term cracker it isn't racist. It's like a 3 year old picking a fight with a pro MMA fighter. the pro MMA fighter picking a fight with the child would be seen as bullying/oppressive/what have you but if the child does it, it's literally nothing in the grand scheme of things.
cracker isn't offensive, get over it.
