If you do not want to partake in same sex marriage, you don't have to, same with opposite sex marriage.

Not when its a blue state. Iowa is probably the least blue of the 12, but they were one of the 3-4 states that had gay marriage forced upon them by a handful of unelected judges.
:suspicious:

How many Iowa citizens were forced to get gay married?

Judges in Iowa are elected, no?
No. Appointed by the governor but they face a retention election every so many years. 3 of the Varnum decision judges got ousted after the decision. The jesus freaks tried again last year to oust some more but failed because nobody cares anymore.

Yeah, my bad.

"Iowans dismiss three justices

Three Iowa Supreme Court justices lost their seats Tuesday in a historic upset fueled by their 2009 decision that allowed same-sex couples to marry.

Vote totals from 96 percent of Iowa's 1,774 precincts showed Chief Justice Marsha Ternus and Justices David Baker and Michael Streit with less than the simple majority needed to stay on the bench.

Their removal marked the first time an Iowa Supreme Court justice has not been retained since 1962, when the merit selection and retention system for judges was adopted.

The decision is expected to echo to courts throughout the country, as conservative activists had hoped........"

I voted for SSM here in SC back in 2008 and even as a practicing Catholic, I don't see SSM as being "detremental" to the family as much as heterosexual adultery and divorce does and I have seen priests say the same thing.

Just because neal and bob want to, well, kneel and bob, doesnt mean that Jane doesn't want to stop impaling herself on top of Tarzan's vine. Someday we will look back and be ashamed at how we treated gays as 2nd class citizens. :ohno:

I'm not very religious and I have no problem with religious people in general. However I get tired of hearing many of these "religious" people preach about how they are right and all holy. Many of those same people cheat on their spouses, are dishonest in their business practices, etc. I grew up in an area full of those types of people. I know what they are like.

I'm also tired of guys like Bob Vanderplaats here in Iowa. He's run for governor twice and failed. He's turned the gay marriage issue into a gig with a religious organziation that is paying him a nice six figure salary. Maybe those people donating to pay that asshole should think about where there money goes. Give it to a food bank, a women's shelter, or some other noble cause instead.

end rambling rant.

Then use the more appropriate term, "hypocrite." Using a term like "Jesus Freaks" simply comes off as childish, petty, lazy, and intolerant. It's just part of my PSA.

If Jesus freaks don't like it they can **** off.
That's a ridiculous reaction. You want so-called "Jesus Freaks" to cater for your viewpoints, but because they disagree you choose to call them names. That's not very tolerant, it's lazy, and it's weakminded. You are better than that...it's time to grow up Clenz.

I'll tolerate them when they learn to tolerate others, like their religion preaches...

Oh and when they stop wearing clothes of blended fabrics, stop getting piercings/tattoos, etc...add those are all abominations to the Lord as well
