I knew we had a club team and that they were the bulldogs, but I never knew there was a connection with UGA.
Even though Coastal Carolina and Georgia have never met, there is a connection between the two schools. Coastal Carolina, which used to be part of the University of South Carolina system, used red and black as its school colors to reflect the association. However, when Coastal Carolina began a club football team in 1987 and needed equipment, neither South Carolina nor Clemson were not able to help. Then coach Andy Lanier, being a Georgia native, turned to the University of Georgia, who gladly handed down helmets, shoulder pads and various other equipment. It also helped, again, that Coastal did use the red and black colors, similar to Georgia. In honor of the great gesture, the Coastal Carolina club team chose to call themselves the “Coastal Carolina Bulldogs” instead of "Chanticleers,” the official school’s nickname.

Not quite football related, but saw this on FB and thought I'd share.

(Throwback Thursday) The University of Maine Black Bears used to be represented by a live mascot named Bananas. Where did the animal stay...at the Beta house, of course. Here is one chapter member spending time with Bananas. Certainly isn't the run-of-the-mill fraternity house pet, right? Beta Theta Pi - University of Maine

Simply not true. Our chicks are the hot. Georgia Southern has us beat, but not NoDU.
Spoiler: show
I've seen ODU chicks naked on the internet.
