Economy is still in the toilet
Guantanamo still open
Forgotten war in Afghanistan
North Korea tears up armistice, threatening a US nuke strike

Keep kalm and carry on.

I'm feeling glass half-full this morning:

You can argue the economy is still in the toilet but you can't argue it's not getting better: Stocks are way up, oil has been steady to coming down, job market slowly improving, housing market improving, still many worldwide questions, especially Europe but it's getting slowly better.

Guantanamo? I can't say it keeps me up at night, let's face it - back in the day we just used to assassinate people, today we waterboard & imprison them off our shores.

Afghanistan - I agree - still every American life lost there is one too many. Need to get out of Dodge there, sooner rather than later.

North Korea- always good for a laugh. I'm looking forward to a new season of South Park which I'm sure will be satirizing Dennis Rodman & his North Korea stooges.

You're right....my point being that the golden child promised us all a better life quickly and it's taken 4+ yrs to see a slight uptick economically. We got out of Iraq only to move those troops to the East in Afganistan, so that's really a push. Guantanamo shutdown never happened, but like you I really don't care too much, just another broken promise. NoKo is run by a buffoon who just might get to see what a 20 kt nuke looks like in downtown Pyongyang (probably his own misfire ;). I'm going to have a good weekend either way.
