Phillies look a lot closer to the worst team in baseball then a .500 team.

Did you mean to say more mistakes? Because that I agree with. A higher payroll doesn't guarantee anything, but it does make it easier to correct mistakes.
You are correct sir. Good catch!
Better rename this the "Road to Perdition" thread.

Dark days in Philly sports - all 4 teams aren't any good & there is no sun on the horizon for the next 12 months.....

The offense just woke up! Cliff Lee with an RBI. Howard, Young, and Mayberry with dingers.

7-0 already, top of 3rd.

And they will give it away in the 9th and lose by 2.

Clifford should put a Sabathia and start the next two games. That way the fightins can get back to .500

Phils up 5-0 in the first inning. Uts with a two-run line drive dinger to dead center and Dom Brown with a mammoth three-run upper deck shot to right. :notworthy:

Now it's 5-2 in the fourth. The Phils have done a good job of scoring early, but they need to put teams away. They blew two 4-0 leads last weekend. :ohno:

The Mets second HR was even higher in the upper right deck than Dom Brown's. :o

The ball is flying on a windy, upper 80 degree evening.

Also sodomy and rain delay. Praise be to mlbtv.

Nice, now at least win the Marlins series, if not sweep them & we're back at or above .500.

I caught a couple minutes of the Marlins game last night during the Phils rain delay. Beautiful stadium. With about 75 people watching.

You know television adds at least 10% to whatever you are watching. Couldn't have been more than 50.

Phillies are playing like idiots tonight. 0-0 in the top of the 5th, 1 out runners on 1st and 3rd, Rollins at bat (batting lefty) Revere gets caught stealing.

WTF!? You don't run in that situation. They aren't going to double up Revere and Rollins and Rollins has the bigger hole to hit through with Revere being held on 1st.

Rollins grounds out on next pitch. Score still 0-0, now bottom of the 5th.

They are playing very, very dumb. Did you see Howard botch the double play on Wednesday? Mets had a man on first. Lightly hit ball right down the first base line. Howard picks it cleanly and instead of just touching first base with his left foot and then throwing to second, he throws to second without tagging first, and giving Rollins no time to turn two.

Then there's a foul pop up to the first base side, about 30 feet short of where the ball girl sits. Utley beats Howard to it and Howard doesn't give way, throws his mitt up over Utley's face, and still drops the ball.

Howard has got to be the most lackadaisical, dumb sumbitch in the league.

A win is a win, no matter how ugly that was.

And in other news, Twins' ace, Vance Worley gave up 7 ER in 1 IP to the Mets. Twins are in for a long season. :ohno:

Right you are! Three in a row! :thumb:

But those Braves had a big comeback win against the Nats, who seem to have big bullpen issues. :twocents:
