Considering he won't play until May, it gives a huge opportunity to Brown. Hopefully, Brown starts hot and keeps the RF job, while Delmon fights for LF with Mayberry and Ruf. :thumb:
Good luck!

Any word on Ryan Howard litigation after he hit a HR completely out of Bright House yesterday onto a highway??

Dom Brown's power looks way up as well - hopefully he's doing it legitimately and wasn't hanging out with Chooch....

Noticed Ben Revere's replacement at Minnesota hit 3 dingers the other day in spring ball.

Wow. That dream of winning the Grapefruit League title is still in reach for the Twins. :thumb:

That's the best they can hope for, glad I'm not a Twins fan, nor Phillies fan for that matter.

Good game by the Phillies yesterday. Touched up Verlander for a couple of runs, and the bullpen shut my Tigers down.

The Phillies bullpen is what people are overlooking. With all the problems and injuries everywhere else last year, if the Phils had even just a decent bullpen they would've been a playoff team. With the quiet additions to the bullpen over the winter, this bullpen looks to be much better than just decent.

I'm interested to see what Doc does in his Spring Traing start this afternoon. It's not good that his fastball has been topping out at 87 mph thus far.

The reinvented Dbacks looked really good tonight. Ian Kennedy was on cruise control, Parra goes 4-5, fill-in center fielder A.J. Pollack goes 4-5, D-backs rock Wainright and roll over St. Louis 6-2.

Hamels was disappointing last night. Utley looked great last night - in a power stroke right now. Amaro is going to pay the price for not getting another OF trotting Mayberry & Nix out there.

Why did they bring back Durbin? Ugh.

Disappointing? 5 IP, 5 runs, all earned, and he gave up several jacks. And then in the post game interview he was very Hamels-esque with his comment that he needed to make adjustments and he just didn't. He's amazingly infuriating at times.

But like you said, on the bright side, Utley is in great shape. It was annoying to see Howard flail at pitch after pitch again (I swear, against lefties I think he just swings at everything now - I'm not sure he even has his eyes open).

And again, just brutal having to listen to Chris Wheeler do the games. He's making Phillies games just unwatchable as I turned it off several times last night after hearing him say some nonsense.

Spot on on Howard and Wheels.

Man, after Utley hit the double in the 5th, the Phils had pulled within a run and had men on 2nd and 3rd with one out. The first two balls to Howard almost bounced in front of the plate and the guy is swinging.

C'MON MAN!!!

Meanwhile, Paul Goldschmidt (essentially a rookie) has ALREADY improved to the point where he's picking up the spin out of the pitchers' hand and not swinging at those balls like he did last year. :thumb:

Wheeler must have something on Dave Montgomery or he'd have been gone ages ago. The guy is an embarrassment.

7 scoreless by Strasburg, two homers in his first two at bats by Harper, record regular season crowd... storybook home opener for the Nats. 8-)

I'm very interested in seeing how Brown plays out this year. If he becomes the monster he was always projected to be, then he could possibly replace Howard in the 4th spot. :thumb:
