N. Korea to Nuke the USA?

Furious over sanctions, NKorea vows to nuke US

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea vowed on Thursday to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States, amplifying its threatening rhetoric hours ahead of a vote by U.N. diplomats on whether to level new sanctions against Pyongyang for its recent nuclear test.

An unidentified spokesman for Pyongyang's Foreign Ministry said the North will exercise its right for "a preemptive nuclear attack to destroy the strongholds of the aggressors" because Washington is pushing to start a nuclear war against the North.

I'm not sure Kimmy has the ability to lob a holy hand grenade over the DMZ. At worst he'd possibly hit some isolated area of the Aleutian islands then claim a huge victory against the US. Meanwhile we have 60 subs with nukes trained on Pyongyang. :coffee:

Wouldn't it simply bounce off the awesomeness that is Iowa and take out Illinois instead? Not that that's not a half-bad idea...

I think they would be more likely to hit the US base in S Korea. That way, the apocalypse would begin.

A war with N. Korea would be much more traditional than warfare in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. The US and its allies would roll over the DPRK in what? Maybe two months, probably less? Of course there's China, but they have way more to lose economically by siding with the DPRK than the West.

Regardless, North Korea won't do anything. The regime knows they're no match and won't risk losing power.

True, but the concentration of people on the peninsula would make it one of the bloodiest in history - a missile strike would take out more than a couple of terrorists and their camels. Seoul and Pyongyang would be destroyed in a matter of days, probably a few missiles launched toward Tokyo by Lil Kim for good measure.

We have to look at this the other way. After the bloodshed, we would be able to rebuild the country's infrastructure for the remaining non-glowing people.

Pretty sure half North Korea's population is in the military. With a couple well placed nukes they over run the South pretty quickly before we react, if Obama has the balls to.

I bet the military could borrow a few bullets from DHS without them knowing.

South Korea would clean their clocks.

We should pull the hell out of there and leave it to them anyway.
