Mr. Landers, quite being part of that "bunch of hicks" Beardown so eloquently talked about. As an avid follower/fan of your posts, I hafta' say that you're much, much better than that!Brock Landers wrote:Underage drinking, casual sex, skateboarding on the sidewalks, etc.Ursus A. Get out your blasters, boys, we got us a sandy one here!Beardown wrote:I agree and it's amazing how many griz fans have a hard-on for this kid. You can be the starting QB for this program and be called "Messiah." If any story exemplifies the messed up culture and backwardness of the state of Montana, it's this story. If you read some of the testimony from this trial, would you want your daughter dating a guy like this? And please, don't use the sorry-ass excuse that boys will be boys and he's just being a college kid. You know what? There's many, many, outstanding young men WHO DON'T DO THIS, AND DON'T PUT THEMSELVES IN THIS SITUATION. You want this kid to be your QB, by all means worship him all you want. You'll just continue to be known as a bunch of hicks.BlackFalkin wrote:

We were a decent team until that game.formerEag wrote:Glad to see that UM decided to made everything right after his acquittal. Not going to lie, it was nice not to have to face JJ this fall and was hoping not to have to again, but certainly not at the cost of ruining a young man's life. Hopefully all parties involved can move on.
That being said, I'm not that much more nervous about playing @ Jizzly stadium next fall. I think that there are just too many question marks for UM. And regarding the whole "fantom fumble/onside recoveries are pure luck/you were in the semis and we almost beat you" argument- I believe that EWU/UM games will be consistently close for the foreseeable future, even when one of the teams is shitty (i.e. the 2012 Jizzlies) It's just a good matchup between two teams that don't like each other very much. It's easy to get up for and play your best game against the Eagles (or the Griz)

Yep. Hard to believe we took App to the wire when you look at how the rest of the season went.uofmman1122 wrote:We were a decent team until that game.formerEag wrote:Glad to see that UM decided to made everything right after his acquittal. After that, our OC completely checked out and didn't give a shit, our offense couldn't move the ball in the second halves of games at all, and our defense sucked.

I'm not sure what happened to you guys last season. We played pretty well and we had a pretty solid team that you fared well against. We tend to play well, but not well enough in Wa-Griz although on paper we should be a stronger team this season. I hope we have a shot to even things up this year.Grizalltheway wrote:Yep. Like 1122 said, I think a combination of not having any good options to replace Johnson, a coaching staff in way over their heads (understandable, given the circumstances), and atrocious play from our secondary. We had an amazing O-line and stable of RBs, but it just wasn't enough to overcome those weaknesses. Oh well, looking forward to better times ahead.ASUG8 wrote:I'm not sure what happened to you guys last season. We played pretty well and we had a pretty solid team that you fared well against. I think Delaney understandably thought not rocking the boat & keeping continuity was the the most important thing since he didn't become coach until April. Unfortunately, the problems that can be associated with that came to the surface.Grizalltheway wrote:Like 1122 said, I think a combination of not having any good options to replace Johnson, a coaching staff in way over their heads (understandable, given the circumstances), and atrocious play from our secondary. I would have to think so, considering he basically ran the offense himself when he was there, IIRC.Mvemjsunpx wrote:I think Delaney understandably thought not rocking the boat & keeping continuity was the the most important thing since he didn't become coach until April. The Rosenbach hire was also strange, but I put that one on Pflugrad. Why did he hire a pro-style guy to run the spread? Was he just planning on using him as a glorified QB coach?

This. In his interviews after bringing him in, it seemed like he was there solely to improve JJ's passing. His goal was for him to complete more than 60%.Grizalltheway wrote:I would have to think so, considering he basically ran the offense himself when he was there, IIRC.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

It wouldn't matter because he played as a true freshman in 2010.JohnStOnge wrote:I'm wondering if the NCAA will give him a year of eligibility back. You know, an exemption from the five year rule.

I find it harder to believe that App lost in the playoffs to an overrated ISU team with three conference losses
