common knowledge among anybody with a brainstem. The fact he felt compelled to "admit it" says more about him and this adminstration than anything.

Well, I guess this means we have to swallow our outrage if our guys become captive and are tortured.
I suppose the argument that the end justifies the means wins out in this case; but unlike most of you here I experienced America when it was at it's peak and more than just another run-of-the-mill secret police regime.
Whatever we gained from torturing our enemies, we're now a lot more like them than we used to be.

I hear what you're sayin' dawg, but we can NOT continue conducting war by a different set of rules than the enemy and think things are going to turn out alright based on numbers and brute force. It just won't work any more.houndawg wrote:Well, I guess this means we have to swallow our outrage if our guys become captive and are tortured.

And, still waiting on statistics about how many of enemy combatants we've beheaded.

Are family and kids killed by "surgical" drone strikes covered in the "beheading enemy combatants" category?

Working for the US government abroad can be dangerous, dawg. These brave individuals knew the risks when they took the job.

All I can think of is the left's faux outrage over waterboarding, and talking about how our problems with terrorists is a law enforcement problem.
Now we hear nothing, and come to think of it I haven't seen a body count on CNN in four years, either.

Yeah, it all went bad when we hung Major Andre because the British had earlier hanged Nathan Hale. When we sunk to the level of the British we were on our way downhill from there. I'm still amazed that you're that old to remember that, but that would explain some of the irrational thought on your part on other subjects. Dementia is a terrible thing.houndawg wrote:Well, I guess this means we have to swallow our outrage if our guys become captive and are tortured.

Hanging spies isn't the same as torturing prisoners of war.
Oh, excuse me. "Enemy combatants."
